Batman Begins is a great example of what a reboot should be. It honors the source material, yet creates something that is new and exciting. This movie is a bit slow at the beginning, but it manages to pick up the pace and create thrilling scenes and dramatic tension -- all while remaining anchored to a realistic world. This movie helped me better understand why Bruce Wayne becomes Batman and why the criminals fear him. Well done, Mr. Nolan.

It's simple. This is the beginning of the best Superhero Trilogy of all time. Nothing can touch these three, beginning right here. (And as they unfold it's clear how tightly they mesh together). Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson... the only weak spot in this movie (and the next) is Rachel Dawes. Especially here, with squeaky voiced Katie Hughes as the characters. But that doesn't detract from this being a great movie. The flow, direction and story are all excellent.

One of the most fantastic parts of Batman Begins is how complex the film is. Nolan is not primarily concerned on making a entertaining comic book pic, but rather on making a intriguing art house character drama. The number of deep and thought provoking themes brought up in movie is something to be hold, considering how the campy Adam West version introduced many people to the character
