denis_deu This topic has been the lime-lite since decades, the facts are true no doubt, the movie lacked presentation,in the whole 120 mins we could just see the narrator babbling, and gloriously smoking, the first thing he should do is to reduce CO2 ..... well if he says fight GLOBAL WARMING in my opinion movie could have been more effective by adding more substantial facts, than just repeating the same things again and again making it monotonous .Of course it is the need of the hour to move our steps together so that we can give our contribution towards a better and Eco friendly Earth .Message is delivered to the audience.Well to me the movie was so so.I generally do not write a review but I did this time. there are plenty other documentary which according to me have connected well to the viewers.I would rate this movie 4 / 10.
Bearish78 While Michael delivers some stunning insight about the direction of our society, most of the information is not new, and he offers no solution. He is in essence like any other political figure - he reiterates known issues, and offers no viable solution. Well that's not true, he offered a few and then slammed them down. He speaks in absolutes which is indicative of a closed-minded individual and not the critical thinker he claims to be. He completely negates humans ability to adapt, but speaks of evolution. Again, if you get a rush from being told that you're probably going to suffer and wither away, and that there is nothing you can do about it, then this movie is for you.
pimlankhorst This is my first review on IMDb. I usually am too lazy to do this things but felt i had to give one now. This man is a very very wise man. He connects all the dots. CIA criminal activities, Peak oil, our worthless money, systems breaking down everywhere, the need for living in harmony with our earth again and even spirituality.I would encourage everyone to watch this movie because in fact it is basic information everybody needs to know about. This is the way the world works. And the more people know this the sooner we can change it.Brilliant.
nephilistpost If you have had your head stuck in the sand for the last 30 years and know nothing about how the world works then this may be a good 'starter' documentary for you.If on the other hand you know the essentials of how the world's economy works and what is going to happen as oil runs out then you are going to have a hard job keeping your eyes open. This documentary is primarily one man being interviewed in a depressing room about a morbid subject. Yes, we know how dependent the world is on oil and the crisis the world is going to face as it runs out but Michael Rupert manages to drag the obvious into a pit of misery. What Michael offers in this film is despair and an almost religious 'the end is nigh' view on life. Perhaps someone who has had his heart broken by witnessing as much corruption as this man is not the right person to send out messages to the world as I would worry for those watching it who are more easily influenced by dark rooms, scary messages and haunting music.I don't disagree with the content, just the manner in which it is put across and the affect it may have on the gullible. The subject matter has been conveyed in a far more subjective manner by many others but if you enjoy a creepy side to your documentaries and are not trying to quit smoking right now then this might be the film for you.
