biologydash This film definitely had some improvements on the first one. I really liked how Rodrick was further developed, as I found him to be one of the most likable characters from the original. His personality is quirky and outlandish, but believable. While I understand Greg's role as a middle schooler, which is full of awkward drama, his character becomes unlikable as he continually whines and shows himself to be a bad friend to his peers. The parents are completely stereotyped as the stupid dad and the mom who refuses to deal with reality until an extreme circumstances rise. This really makes them poor role models for the boys, who ultimately grow as characters from learning how to appreciate each other. As a middle school teacher, I was disappointed with the representation of the teacher in the film. While I do understand that some teachers do judge younger siblings based on their older siblings, it is unfair to assume this is the norm.I do think the film does appropriately emphasize the awkwardness of middle school, though it is overly dramatized.I rate this film 4/10
Catherine_Grace_Zeh Even though I haven't read the novel, DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES, in my opinion, is an excellent big-screen adaptation of a Jeff Kinney bestseller. If you ask me, Patty (Laine MacNeil) was a totally b****y ice queen. I think that for many reasons. In my opinion, one of the most hilarious parts of this movie was when Greg (Zachary Gordon) was hiding in the ladies restroom. If you want to know why, you'll have to see the movie. Also, I thought that every attempt to have Greg bond with Rodrick was hilarious. In conclusion, if you enjoyed the novel or are a fan of anyone in the cast, check this movie out today. You'll be glad you did.
david charles Tanks to the team to have accomplished these films of comedies. I saw two Diary of a wimpy kid. For me, it are of very good films. Books are remarkably adapted well. All actors did good in films. To us in France, they exist not in Blu-ray and DVD is devoid of Making-of. It is regrettable. With delay, good birthday in Zachary Gordon for these 14 years. And i thank both film directors Thor Freudenthal and David Bowers for these two big comedies. They brought us a lot of joy, to laugh and friendship who give desire to go in California to congratulate you. Zachary Gordon is unique in this role, a true star of cinema. Good chance for its future, he must continue making laugh us because the world needs to laugh.
ForeverHopefulForPudding The first film was quite a good laugh out loud family film, with decent comedy and good acting on Bostick's part. This film however was nowhere near as entertaining and it seemed to be a very forced, childish film. I do understand that it is from a child PoV so the humour is bound to be childish. The relationship between the brothers was quite entertaining and I enjoyed the prank montage in the car park. The door incident was drawn out and not very funny once the climax of the joke had been reached and was definitely not worth 10 minutes of the films entire run time The ending was quite good though and I did enjoy Rowley(or however you spell it)'s Ke$ha video. Decent but only good for smaller children and only worth a 6.
