asc85 Along with Capturing the Friedmans, I thought this was the best 2003 release in America. In 2003, everyone talked endlessly and breathlessly in the USA about Mystic River or Lost in Translation, but I felt Dirty Pretty Things was far superior. I think the story was extremely interesting, and when the twist at the end happened, I didn't see it coming at all, and that's a great thing when you watch a movie like this. This was probably considered Chiwetel's Ejiofor's first significant role, and he was great in it. And Sergi Lopez knows how to play a great bad guy. Audrey Tautou and Sophie Okonedo also did a good job in supporting roles. All around, just a great effort by Frears
marionbengtsson This movie is about a Nigerian refugee, that is illegal in the U.K. he works at a hotel, and lives with another illegal refugee that works at the hotel. His boss is corrupt, and takes organs from illegal refugees, and in return they get passports. He learns that Okwe has a doctor degree from Nigeria and pressures him to help him, and in return he gets a passport. Since Okwe lives her illegal he has a lot of trouble with the people that works to get them out of the country. Since they both are here illegal they have to take shitty jobs, and low pay. their bosses disrespect them, and make them do all kinds of things.the movie has low sound quality, you cannot hear what they say because of the accent and because of the background noise. Do not recommend this movie.
Johannes Norum I did not understand so much of their language, it was hard to understand because they did not speak fluent English. My opinion about the movie; I i did not like it very much, cause it was a bad story and i could understand every word of what they were saying. I did not understand the plot, only that a guy worked at a hotel and the stole something inside an other person. I was really weird, it was no context in my opinion. I can't find anything more to say, i've said everything about it. . . ....... ........ ... .......... ........ ........... ...... ...... ........ ... .......... ........ ........... ...... ...... ........ ... .......... ........ ........... ...... ...... ........ ... .......... ........ ........... ......
Jonas Kvello Dirty pretty things, i think that this movie is pretty interesting, I've never seen a movie that's even close to this. The movie is based around immigrant who lives in London(illegally). He works in a hotel and one day he discovers something , well lets just say interesting. The acting in this movie is okay, I've seen better. To be honest i didn't really feel connected any of the characters. I actually really like the story itself, its a great concept for a movie. But again the acting is a bit meh. What i actually really like about this movie is in some scenes the music and sound effects are spot on. This might just be me but i watched the movie without subtitle's, and in some parts of the movie i had problems understanding what the actors was saying. But overall i would say the movie is okay.
