tenshi_ippikiookami "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F" brings back the old band including old big bad Freezer... I mean Frieza. Some of Frieza's people are still alive, and they find the dragon balls, resurrect him and give him some time to power up. All the while, Kuririn is happy as a cop, Son Gohan as a regular and average person and Piccolo taking care of Son Gohan and Videl's child. But when Frieza decides is time to carry out its vengeance, they will have to do their best to stop it... well, till Son Goku and Vegeta are back from their constant training."Dragon Ball" (and "Z") are history, legend in the anime world. The first part was more humorous, silly, with character development and lots of adventures, while the "Z" part became a non-stop of fighting and a constant introduction of new and badder enemies (which Son Goku always had to defeat), video game style. It still had humor and adventure, but they were left in the background. It was fun, but it became too much. This movie suffers from the same. The first part, lighter in tone, and with the typical cameos of different characters, like the aforementioned Videl, Android No.18 or always fun to meet again Pilaf and hench-couple are silly and funny. The second part, though, falls into a too long, too much, too repetitive, we all really know how it is going to end fighting. First, Kuririn, Piccolo, Son Gohan ('ironic' that Kuririn tells Android No.18 to stay home while Master Roshi joins the team)... appear and fight with Frieza's people. And then Son Goku appears and does what he always does (which the viewer, when they see the movie, will understand). It is just not very original or fun.The movie ends up just being light entertainment, that will be enjoyed the best by fans (but even those will probably think it is just too much of the same).
jellejeremiah After all this time, it was finally time to watch the new, long expected, DBZ movie. I had my hopes up, until a few Z characters started dropping like flies. There's one point in the movie where Sorbet compares his strongest henchman with the likes of Zarbon and Dodoria. Then later on in the movie, Picollo gets in a fight against the devil-like guy, Sorbet was talking about. Then Piccolo needs the help of Gohan SSY 1 to win the battle. Against a guy as strong as Zarbon...After that Gohan almost dies by one hit from Frieza in his first form (without powering up). It's things like this that really grind my gears. I don't even wanna start about the whole Frieza thing getting God-like powers(!!!) just in a span of 6 months. And of course the whole 'Goku saves the day' thing. The animations are good, and some of the fight are entertaining, but this movie just feels too easy. It's a big letdown.
Saif Ahmed This movie exceeds expectations, it's amazing how they outdid battle of gods as that was also a brilliant movie. i enjoyed the way they included the z characters like Tien and Krillin giving them good roles where they aren't just getting wasted, i also loved how they brought the old washed up Master Roshi into this and made him bad arse KA ME HA ME HAA!!! amazing. I did not like the fact Trunks and Goten where not included and Gohan got one punched KO'D by freezer but i guess Toriyama has a plan with Dragon ball Super. As for the new forms. they are simply amazing Toriyama knows how to surprise people i loved the new forms of the Goku and Vegeta Super Saiyan god Super Saiyan is a mouthful though. Freezers new form OP i tell you that but he's a great villain. All in great movie contained humour kick arse action and a good story line.
Sheng Liu First a quick description of the show: Frieza is revived by the remnants of his army. He retreats back to his planet to train for months in preparation to exact his revenge against the Saiyans. Upon completion of his training, he brings the entirety of his army and invades Earth. This movie is so action packed from beginning to end and I'm so glad I watched this in theater. Just being there in the movie theater with all the DBZ fans cheering and cracking up was just a wonderful experience. The fight scene, music, and animation just went above and beyond my expectation.I think the best aspect of this movie was when all the original DBZ characters got to show off their skills. Everyone from Master Roshi to Jaco the Galactic Patrolman had important and hilarious moments in this show. Without spoiling anything, a situation occurs in the show where the group divides up people to fight and they all showed their best skills. It wasn't one of those SPECIAL BEAM CANNON and then on to the next character kind of scenes. They all had a good amount of time spent on their fighting scenes and it's probably one of the best fan service moments I've ever seen. Even Vegeta, who is always being shown up by Goku, had really cool moments. The movie kept along at a relaxed pace in the beginning, but definitely revved up at the end. You know in some fight scenes, they usually have those swift blurred lines with people throwing punches that symbolizes that they are throwing dozens of them. Well, it's not there anymore. They slowed down the punches and really shows you the detail and strength behind them. If there is one thing I would nitpick about this movie, it would be that there was basically no major develop. In the previous movie, "Battle Of The Gods", you get to discover Beerus who brings power levels to a whole new ballgame, you see a new transformation of Super Saiyan, and it developed the plot and let you know that there are much stronger people out in the universe. But for this movie, there wasn't any huge developments. I think it was more of an homage to Frieza, the final sendoff to a great DBZ character, and I'm OK with that.I honestly can't say enough good things about this movie, to me it was damn near perfect. Give it a chance, you won't regret it!
