We were scrolling though Netflix and landed on this title. What a fantastic find! We found this to be a great film about friendship with an added alien twist. The camera work added to the ambiance of plot and did not detract. The interplay between the characters was presented in a genuine and authentic manner. Delightful! We watched with a mixed crowd, 6 years old to 55 years old, with quite a few laughs. A story of a grand adventure at a young age is wonderful thing to enjoy. I dismiss the comparison to ET as a reason to not watch this film. Modern versions of story lines can create a fresh appeal to current movie watchers and their families. It can be a challenge to find a film the everyone can enjoy together. This is one of those special films that does.

The movie Earth to Echo was a very creative movie and wasn't just like every other cliché movie with aliens in it. There were a few parts that did remind me of another movie but besides the one or two parts that contained something that reminded me of another movie, it was original. The editing in the movie was very commendable and the parts that showed Echo's sight was also creative and commendable. In the movie there are three boys who are best friends who are forced to move out because of a road being made right above their homes. A few days before they have to home out, one of their phones starts to show a map. They all decide to go to where the map is and they end up finding an alien who needs help to get back home.My opinion on this movie is that it is very creative and I liked how it wasn't just like every other alien movie. It had a interesting plot and the special effects creative. The ending was slightly easy to guess but the story itself was very creative and the movie was very interesting.

So, firstly, I gave this a 6/10 because overall the plot was OK and the acting was OK. the reason this movie is one big fat lie is that its stuffing you with the idea that "hope" keeps long distance friendships alive. NEWSFLASH it doesn't. You know how they always say:don't forget to face time every day, text every day, etc?? Well, after my move across the country, my very best friend face timed once in the year since I've moved. It seems like someone has ripped a hole out of you when you move that far. It numbs. You forget your home, friends, neighborhood. You make new friends, get a new house on a new street, in a new state, or even country. "oh, I once lived..." may come up in a convo at a point in your life, but all those stupid nagging memories of lost friendships get thrown out and replaced. Summary: this movie teaches young children lies about how life is really like. Cute story, but unrealistic telling of how moving goes along.

Earth to echo is the modern-day E.T, with a exciting, powerful storyline. Most younger viewers will love this film as much as I did.The film is about a group of kids who live in a ordinary neighbour hood. One day they find that their phones have 'barfed', and their screen is just showing a weird image. Builders have announced that they are building a freeway to replace the neighbour hood. The kids set of on a journey to find why there phones barfed. They find a small, damaged alien, which they name Echo. Trying to get Echo back to his home planet, the kids go on a huge adventure.Sometimes in the film it got too dark to see anything, especially seeing it in a classroom at school. Also at some points the camera got a little too shaky, so it was a bit hard to work out what was happening. Finally, I noticed that the film was slightly more focused on the kids rather than the alien Echo, yet the film is based on Echo.Other than that, I definitely recommend you get round to watching this movie, it is very good. I hope for a follow-up some time.
