arvindmy This can not be a full and complete movie. Something is not shot. It's a half movie. It just ends aburabtly.
albertsantosr I love it. greater chills than any horror movie i ever seen
Straker17 This is the first movie I have seen from Stanley Kubrick, and I am already impressed with him. He is able to frame shots perfectly, and the visuals put on the screen look great. He knows how to use a camera well. This movie exudes boldness and confidence. As opposed to many movies that are commonly shown, this movie doesn't move the camera around that much. Kubrick is confident enough in his movie that he doesn't see the need in jerking around the camera to grab his viewers attention. He simply allows the movie to play out. This is a movie that many directors would not want to make. The subject matter of the film practically demands the film to be loaded with nudity, something which makes a director as bold as Kubrick the only logical choice. I was actually shocked at the amount of nudity in this film, and it isn't the first time I have seen nudity either. The fact that he was willing to sow everything he did just goes to show how bold he is as a director. Where this film falls short, however, is in the pacing. This movie is over two and a half hours long and it feels it. It makes this movie very hard to sit through, and I don't think I would sit through it again. While this movie is bold, and it did earn Stanley Kubrick my respect, I don't envision myself watching this movie again in the future.
parameswaranrajendran The movie that I tried to ignore for past 4 years since researching about the secret society and conspiracy theories. Finally today is the day to talk about this film. Stanley Kubrick exposed one of the oldest secret in this world through dream & mystery genre. I like the one dialogue said by Tom Cruise - What kind of fu**ing charade is that taking lives of people. Stanley significantly hints those celebrities that died and will die in future too. Here are some eye-opening facts about Eyes Wide Shut1. The film is based on novella Traumnovelle (Dream Story) which was published in 1926.2. The Warner Bros. Pictures pushed Kubrick to cast A-list names.3. Kubrick liked the idea of casting a real-life married couple in the film, and originally considered Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. Eventually, he went with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, who were married from 1990 to 2001.4. Though the film is set in New York, it was filmed in London.5. The movie is the Guiness World Record Holder for the longest constant movie shoot with a total of 400 days. Cruise and Kidman only committed to six months of filming. The extended shoot delayed work for Mission: Impossible II. Tom didn't seem to mind though as he said - we knew from the beginning the level of commitment needed.6. Kubrick temporarily banned Cruise from the set during shoot Kidman's sex scene with another man, which motivates the rest of the film's plot. They spent 6 days to filming the one-minute scene (wtf Kubrick).7. Six days for a one-minute scene is nothing compared to the time Kubrick had Cruise do 95 takes of one simple action: walking through a door. 8. Kubrick has a cameo in the movie which can be seen sitting in a booth at the Sonata Café.9. Kubrick passed away less than a week after showing the studio what would be the final cut of the film to Warner Bros. (not surprise for those revealing secret society)10. Eyes Wide Shut came out a full 12 years after Kubrick's previous film 1987's Full Metal Jacket.11. Kubrick's only film to earned $30,196,742 during its first week in release.12. One year after the film's release, Cruise admitted that he "didn't like playing Dr. Bill. I didn't like him. It was unpleasant. But I would have absolutely kicked myself if I hadn't done this.
