Epic Gaming TV When I saw this movie as a kid, I LOVED it!! And I think it still kinda holds up today, yes it is a cheesy plot, but the idea of Special Agent Guinea Pigs is so cute to me.
just a person I guess I'm going a little too easy on it. I'll just pick it apart... I don't know about other viewers, but I never felt connected or felt anything for the characters. You never really got to know them good enough, but also, they were obvious personalities. When Speckles apparently "died", I honestly felt nothing. To be completely honest, I thought, "Okay." The acting was terrible. The voice over was...eh. I was majorly disappointed in Ben. He had no major part in the movie, but when he did, his character was dull and pointless. I will say that I was impressed with Speckles. I had no idea it was voiced as Nicholas Cage until I saw the reviews. The plot was okay. I know it is for a younger audience, but this is basically what the movie is about: Three guinea pigs who are specially trained as secret agents are fighting to save the world from a man planning to take over the world with coffee machines and other small machines... I think you understand that it is a pretty disappointing plot, and it is extremely obvious. Entertaining for kids, but just sad and pointless for the older audience. The "twist" at the end isn't surprising and doesn't effect you in any way. It turns out that Speckles is the mastermind behind everything, but after a minute of "No, Speckles! We are your family!" bit, he suddenly regrets his actions. The ending, which was supposed to be moving, was extremely embarrassing. It was rushed, and just strange when Kip is sent to Antarctica. To be nice, I will say that in can be entertaining, and has its moments, but overall is just really disappointing. I feel bad for the people who wasted $10+ to see this. It can be good for kids, and the animation is decent, but this is the kind of movie where you see it once, and never want to see it again. 5/10.
FilmFanatic03 What a great film! I was expecting the cheesiest film mankind has ever seen but the reason why i saw it anyway was because it has guinea pigs in! But i was pleasantly surprised as it wasn't that cheesy, and the cheesy bits were a fun cheesy, not a cringe cheesy. I loved how they made a films about Guinea pigs into an action film. I think it's for the whole family to watch and enjoy. Of course there is nothing offencive in this film since the primary target audience are kids so that was a great bonus. The Guinea pigs have adult voice which normally never works on a animal movie because it spoils their cuteness but the Guinea pigs were still cute. I love this film, i think it's worth the watch and you can make your decision but for me i'm going to say it is a fun movie, not Oscar worthy, but still a great film!
Movie_Muse_Reviews I don't have anything against talking animals. I love Disney movies like the rest of them. I'll take talking toys, bugs, bears, penguins, fish, you name it -- but an elite force of special unit guinea pigs in a live action setting is not something that screams fun for the whole family. No doubt that kids will get a kick out of mindless physical humor with chase scenes, explosions and high-tech gadgetry, but considering 2009 was full of terrific animated movies from "Coraline" to "Up" to "Cloudy with a Chance Meatballs," "G-Force" is a complete waste by comparison.A team of genetically enhanced talking guinea pigs works for a secret division of the government. When their plan to stop a mad man (Bill Nighy) goes sour, they're shut down and the guinea pigs end up at a pet store, where planning their escape and still managing to stop the bad guy will be their toughest challenge yet.Written by The Wibberleys ("National Treasure" co-writers), "G-Force" is another being a hero story only with balls of fur and consequently a lot of "that's because I'm small or furry or an animal" jokes. The big mistake, in my opinion, is combining live action and CGI. I think they could've made this film work all animated, but they chose the much cornier route. As a result, the film just looks worse and they cause themselves problems such as why the guinea pigs are talking CGI creatures but the dogs and squirrels in the movie are ordinary dogs. When the film goes "Transformers 2" at the end, it just makes things worse."G-Force" certainly has no lack of action. The plot moves quickly and the film is watchable. It's one thing to be bad and another to be bad and dull. "G-Force" is not dull, but it doesn't earn many more compliments. It's mostly the humor that backfires and attempts to write in subplots of g-pigs wanting to date other g-pigs. I must, however, compliment voice casting. Penelope Cruz, Nic Cage, Sam Rockwell and Tracy Morgan have great, distinctive voices. I thought Rockwell was particularly great at find a style that would really register as the hero of the group. He's the hardest voice to identify if you're an adult who enjoys playing that game in movies that demand no other thought like "G-Force."~Steven CVisit my site at http://moviemusereviews.com
