thomasalan-36346 This film is something the industry has needed for a very long time. Travolta is great is dipicting Gotti in this true story and the movie has abit of everything: Emotion Violence Great acting within a true story. I have learned to not believe the media ... fake news...
simoncrunch We have classic mob films..as portrayed, hard to understand how some fat ignorant cliches are criminal masterminds. I love Travolta..i guess...but the shameless ref to pulp fiction?..with the surf guitar. The weird religion. Personal hype....it adds up, people are not as stupid as you believe.I am Riveted watching Sopranos or Godfather... but this is self indulgent nonsense.
Rehman Khilji Some outclass brilliant by Travolta. And that's the only thing about this movie. There is a lot missing a lot not told a lot remains confusing. But than again, if you are a travolta fan its a treat as he acted simply brilliant. If not, pass on, you aint missing anything.
kylecyr From what i was hoping to be an interesting look and take on notorious mob boss John Gotti and a supposed in depth look at his life turned out to be a hot mess of bad acting, terrible script writing and incoherent story line. When i first heard that John Travolta was going to play John Gotti in this movie i was pretty skeptical in his ability to pull this role off as most of his recent roles have been pretty subpar and was nothing like his acting in movies like Face-Off which i consider the pinnacle of John Travoltas acting career and boy was my skepticism right. He seemed to have this weird look on his face the entire movie like he was trying to seem tough and mimic Gotti but ultimately made him look like he was trying to hard. His rendition of John Gotti ultimately felt flat and had no heart like someone gave him the script he flipped through it and said fine just give me my paycheck. The storyline didn't really do any justice to what could have been an intense and interesting look into the New York crime family during the Gotti era, I feel like with most mob stories it should have started how the main character enters the mob life but puts the story somewhere in the middle and it seemed that alot of parts of the movie were either too long or too short and skipped alot of detail and various reasons why of some mob hits. The actors in this movie were all forgettable including the main man himself John Travolta but since this film went through development hell and i guess blew all the budget on the main actor nobody in the film is really that well known and their acting skills are pretty subpar with many characters being pretty boring and stale. looking at the Wikipedia page it says actors like Joe pesci and Al pacino were suppose to be in this movie which makes it even more disappointing seeing what could have been a great cast. This movie felt very rushed especially since it had something like 44 producers and seemed to be very poorly pieced together. I even had a hard time sitting through it and had to get up and go for a walk cause i was falling asleep as well this movie seemed to be very pro-Gotti and took a take that him and his family were just doing what they had to do to get by and that he was a man of the people when in fact he had more sides to that. Do yourself a favour and just watch a history channel documentary on him or various other well done mafia related movies and Television shows (Sopranos #1).
