billyg900 Great movie, nice to see an angry superhero...bad reviews are probably mostly from superhero nerds who need all their superheros to be cartoon-ish and Nice....if your over 5 years old this is the superhero movie for you the prison scene is funny as hell.....
adonis98-743-186503 Hancock is a superhero whose ill considered behavior regularly causes damage in the millions. He changes when one person he saves helps him improve his public image. Hancock is one of the most underrated superhero films of all time it's basically like a DC movie but instead of 3 movies you have only one the reason why Hancock is such a jerk to everyone is not because he is bad but because he is all alone he thought for years he was the last of his kind but he really wasn't and that is where the drama comes in sure the film has good action and humor but the dramatic element shines it truly shows how heroes are like us and the fact that if they love each they start loosing their powers and become mortal is just a genius idea. Aside the villains and the cgi which is off sometimes Hancock truly shows how heroes are being treated they might save the day but they still have their enemies which is the world for example Superman in BVS. Charlize Theron as Mary is the character that Will Smith was with decades ago and after a horrific attack they split and he doesn't remember a thing and i have to say that scene in the hospital where he got shot or stabbed was amazing they both felt the pain that perfectly shows love and heroism but also the curse of 2 heroes falling in love and as Will starts jumping around away from Mary she comes back to life just epic. Also Jason Bateman was excellent in this film and for once again Peter Berg is just a great director period and because of that i'll give Hancock a 10 out of 10 truly underrated science fiction film.
khoa-56220 I love the idea of having a superhero going through a normal life. The movie starts out great, portraying a realistic view on the characters. I really like Will Smith's acting and despite the criticism, I don't personally find the CGI that bad.Unfortunately, the movie loses its charm around half way through the movie when the plot gets overly complicated between the main characters. Oh and also, plot holes. There are lots of them in the second half of the movie. They might not drive you crazy like how they did to me but personally, the movie felt really rushed as details are left out.Overall, it's a good movie to watch on your free time but definitely not a blockbuster. Although I wish they'd do more movies like this, the idea of a superhero who's just as ordinary as everyone else.
Sam smith (sam_smithreview) Watched this old, yet fun film Hancock tonight. I enjoyed it for what it was which is a fun, mostly fast-paced popcorn flick. The writers of the film also tossed in a nice plot twist that I didn't see coming but it turned out to work just fine. This isn't Shakespeare so I don't demand a lot of deep thought just some escapist fun. Will Smith does an excellent job of playing the disinterested superhero with an existential crisis. It was good to see Jason Bateman again but a bummer as well seeing how he has aged. This means I am not so young myself anymore. Jae Head didn't overact nor did the script writers push the "cute" button to the point of being saccharine. It will be interesting to see how this movie performs to see if Smith wants to do a sequel. So I am more than happy to recommend Hancock to fans of the "Summer Blockbuster" and those who enjoy Will Smith.
