Minahzur Rahman I remember seeing this movie first coming out, and was eagerly excited to watch it: really enjoyed seeing the trailer of it. I wasn't too disappointed that this movie will have a completely different cast compared to the previous two movies because it just wouldn't have worked if the original cast continued to reprise their roles for the third one. Home Alone 3 was still a fine home alone movie - very entertaining! I liked how it is different compared to the previous two home alone movies, and feel it worked really well. Alex was amazing especially with that remote control car. I liked how he was toying with these intruders all throughout the neighbourhood. I really enjoyed the scene where that toy car was taking on the real car head-on. I think it's just as good as the previous two home alone movies, but unique on its own way if that makes sense. Home Alone 3 had a kid deal with 4 CROOKS!!!! so that shows how unique it was. Home Alone 3 made me laugh: some of the scenes were just too funny. I really enjoyed this as a kid. I even had it on tape. It's a fine christmas movie for the family, and I would definitely add it to my watchlist for the christmas season.
studioAT Despite a script from the legendary John Hughes, this third instalment in the 'Home Alone' series suffers from the law of diminishing returns.Much like the fourth outing that would follow years later, this film tries to replicate the events from the first film, only with a different slant, only for it to plae in comparison to what has gone before.Alex D Linz does well in the lead role, replacing the now too old Mac Culkin, but he, much like the new team of burglars aren't as good as those in the original. It was a nice attempt, but I don't think the public were really ever going to truly buy into this film, as the original was so beloved.
Whitney Charla I'm not sure why this movie got such bad reviews. I love it! The character of Kevin couldn't last forever. The acting abilities of the kid in this movie was great. Also, the criminals in this one were much more advanced than the first two movies. It's not my favorite of the Home Alone series, but it's definitely not a terrible movie!
callanvass This was a HUGE mistake. The second movie was a little disappointing, but at least it had the original cast members. I don't know what they were thinking going ahead without McCulkin. I know he refused to come back, but they should have known it would have failed after he refused. It was a ballsy (and stupid) move to try to do a new story. This series was dead. There was no need to revive it. The gags aren't anywhere near as funny either. You'll get what you expect, just less laughs. Alex Linz is pretty bad as the new kid. He lacks McCulkin's charisma and lacks the talent to carry a movie. The only other noteworthy thing about this film is the debut of Scarlett Johansson. If you're a fan of Home Alone, stay away from this movie. Home Alone is one of my favorite movies. This is just crap. The fourth movie is even worse and went STV. Crazily enough, they just released a 5th movie recently (!)3/10
