Bob Movieguru The chemistry between Heigl and Wilson are excellent to play their roles. It is a dark comedy of an unhappy, sex-deprived husband and his control freak wife that made the whole plot full of twist and turns with sex, drugs and murder not suitable for young children. Brewster was also very sexy in this movie and the antagonists are not to be messed with either. The movie itself was well-written and I wasn't really expecting anything from this movie but it delivered the theme it wants to portray quite well. It kept my attention all throughout the film which Hollywood rarely does these days. Will I watch it again or recommend it with friends? Oh, definitely! Good job guys!
paul_3-960-896774 Home Sweet Hell is a strange but charming movie. I bet it read fantastic but it had some serious pace issues. They may have taken the time to set it up before the "action" began but this 90min movie felt like 120min. It is slooow but not slow enough to loose your mild interest in the movie. To put it nicely Katherine Heigl is stiff, she basically mailed it in. The rest of the cast is....meh, and the characters are just a collage of clichés. Home Sweet Hell definitely has its moments but it doesn't make a good movie. It's mildly entertaining, a good palate cleanser before diving into a riveting story.
Niki Kefala Katherine Heigl takes her knifes again, but this time not for curing a patient - like she did in Grey's anatomy few years ago - but for a totally different reason. This movie is a black comedy with a little bit of a drama, soft (very soft) porn and crime. To be honest I didn't like none of the characters that's why I didn't care about how they end up. Overall Home Sweet Hell is the perfect choice for Katherine's Heigl fans, because her performance as a psycho wife is perfect. As for the deeper meanings of this movie (superficial happiness, infidelity, childhood trauma, repressed desires, etc.) don't expect to find any answer.
LeonLouisRicci Passable Dark Comedy that might have been a Bit Darker and Bit Funnier. Although the Good Acting and Energetic Directing make for some Moments of Demented Anti-Suburban Pleasure.Katherine Heigl and Patrick Wilson are a "Happily" Married Couple. An OCD Domineering Doll and a Buttoned Down Weak-Kneed Furniture Salesman with a couple of Kids that Mimic Their Parents by Gender. It's a Perverse Picture that Glories in its Playfulness. The First Half Set-Up is a rather Tame Affair developing the needed Personalities and the Second Half Explodes Into some Gut-Wrenching Violence and Twists of Turns.Overall, the Talent of the Cast and a Bright Saturated Color Palette add to the Mayhem with the Story's Bizarre Take on the American Dream.A Martha Stewart Nightmare of Suppressed Psychopathy with an Anti-Nuclear Family stance that will make some say..."Yea, you bet." and others Scram for the Exits. Not for All Tastes but Those that are Attracted to Movies with Bad Taste...Enjoy.
