Eddie Cantillo I Still Know What You id Last Summer (1998) Starring: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Mekhi Phifer, Brandy Norwood, Muse Watson, Matthew Settle, Jennifer Esposito, Bill Cobbs, Jeffrey Combs, John Hawkes, and Jack Black Directed By: Danny Cannon Review SOMEONE IS DYING FOR A SECOND CHANCE. Hello Kiddies your pal the Crypt-Critic here with a sequel to a stupid movie. You know what means, it's one hundred times worst than the first. Unfinished business with coed Julie James brings the murderer to the Bahamas to terrorize her and her friends, Karla, Tyrell and Will, during a vacation. Can Ray Bronson who survived a bloody attack alongside Julie two summers ago, get to the island in time to save everyone? This sequel looked at the naysayers of the first film such as myself and said you thought that was stupid, you thought that was stupid, we;ll show you stupid. My goodness doesn't this film beat it's predecessor to the razzes. Jennifer Love Hewitt returns(insert sexy photo) no complaints I guess. Julie(Hewitt)and her friends win a trip to an island and it just so happens that the fisherman from the first film is from that island. He use to live their oh what luck. Wait it gets better, evidently the fisherman and his painfully obvious accomplice knew there was going to be a storm that weekend. So that there victims could not get off the island. I guess storm from X-Men owed him or something. And then here's the first twist it was all a rouse to get them all on the island. And Hewitt's new love interest turns out to be the fisherman's son, and they manipulated the whole thing. Which how did he even know he would be on the island with them I mean Hewitt and Brandy won the giveaway and he was invited by Brandy at the last minute, so how did he know he'd be able to get there I mean he knew there was a massive storm coming and all boats where cancelled so... you know what screw it. It's okay though because Freddie Prinze Jr. who gives the best performance in this piece of trash. He defeats them with Hewitt and we end with the fisherman pulling Hewitt from under the bed even though he's a normal guy and we clearly saw him die. This movie sucks. I Still Know What You Did Last Summer has every clichéd story-point , every character is a tired cliché. It offers nothing, not one shred of good. One out of five.
Python Hyena I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998): Dir: Danny Cannon / Cast: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Brandi, Mekhi Pfifer, Mathew Settle: Jennifer Love Hewitt is still not over the tragic events of the first film so Brandi invites her for a getaway on an island where its scenery is the film's only compliment. Freddie Prinze Jr. stays behind until an attempt is made on his life by the man with the hook. Now he is off and running with a gun. Idiot plot works wonders here. Boats are gone for the weekend and a storm is predicted. How convenient. From there the characters are sliced and diced, run and scream, and make narrow escapes. Director Danny Cannon doesn't bring anything new to the concept. What he does throw at us is every graphic hack and slash murder cliché presented in numerous other slasher films. Hewitt is back with the realization that some guy with a hook has been up on whatever it was she did last summer, or the summer before that, or maybe every past summer since. Brandi and Mekhi Pfifer are lifeless, and Prinze Jr is trying hard to be a hero with that gun and false since of bravado. There is even a Voodoo guy who claims that he can help them. He steals Hewitt's toothbrush. Maybe he was going to teach the hook guy a thing or two about tooth decay. I know what the filmmakers were doing last summer and making a decent film wasn't it. Score: 2 / 10
