It was a normal night in Las Vegas, Nevada, all the lights were flashing brightly, until a man with one hand, one eye, and one leg walks into a pawn shop with a statue of a hideous looking Leprechaun. The owner claims it's a good luck charm. The statue also wore a medallion around it's neck. The careless pawn shop owner took off the medallion setting the Leprechaun free...

shanerittersbach Leprechaun 3 is the best sequel and possibly the best film in the leprechaun franchise (But at the end of the day, its still a killer leprechaun)SPOILERS AHEAD!Leprechaun 3 was released in 1995 from Trimark Entertainment. Australian born genre director Brian Trenchard-Smith directed the film, Smith is known for his horror exploits in such films as Dead End Drive-In (1986) and Night of the Demons 2 (1989). The film stars Lee Armstrong (Fraggle Rock), John Gatins (Kong: Skull Island), Marcelo Tubert (Tremors 2: After Shocks), Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2), and of course that ever talented green-thumb, Warwick Davis (Willow) is the Leprechaun.Warwick Davis returns as the titular leprechaun in this the third installment of the leprechaun franchise. For such a small menace the leprechaun fills up the screen with witty dark humor and a genuine creepiness at certain points. Davis seems to gleam right through he makeup and shoot out at the audience. Without Warwick at the helm of the character, the leprechaun would be nothing but a re-hashing of a formula that doesn't always work ... Leprechaun: OriginsThe other actor within the film definitely fit in the film. The actors certainly bring a certain cheesy camp nature to the film and that is how this materiel should be treated. A film about a killer leprechaun on the loose for his lost gold, that's crazy. The film stars Lee Armstrong and John Gatins as the two leads. Though the film is silly their performances fit perfectly within the content. Gatins at one point in the film starts to turn into a leprechaun after being bitten by the little green bastard. The idea of a person turning into a leprechaun is absurd but given the nature of the materiel and the context of the film the acting on Gatins part lends a lovely, cheesy blend to all of those scenes. Next to Gatins we have Lee Armstrong, who plays the classic B-Film girl. Though i said she is the classic B-girl one thing she doesn't do the whole movie is scream. Thank god! No, she kicks leprechaun ass in the film. She is great and it is a true shame she didn't do more acting, who knows she could have become the next scream queen. The film also features wonderful makeup effects by underrated effects artist Gabe Bartalos. Bartalos is mostly known for his work for director Frank Henlotter and his films such as The Basket Case Trilogy and Brain Damage, and others. Bartalos has also worked on other well known films in the genre like Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Texas Chainsaw 2, and From Beyond. Among his work obviously is the leprechaun films. He has worked on and done the effects for all including the first film. His effects have certain creativity and fantasy element i love about them. The leprechaun makeup is beautifully crafted and the gore and shock effects are very well done. The Leprechaun film franchise has always been one of my favorites. I not the biggest fan of the later films, these being both of the In The Hoods and Origins, they suck! But i will admit the 3rd installment is my personal favorite. The film is full of dark comedy and wonderful gore. Warwick Davis's performance is wonderful and creepy. I love the film, its a great B-Horror film.Two-Green Thumbs Up!
GL84 Stopping at a Las Vegas casino, a hapless young man begins a winning streak after coming to possession with a leprechaun's magic coin that soon turns the other patrons of the casino against each other as the leprechaun continues his quest to find it.This one had some really enjoyable elements about it. One of the better elements here is the fact that it manages to go back to the original's method of including more suspenseful antics here along with the chase in the opening resurrection of the statue in the pawn shop where he begins to chase and stalk the owner of the shop around before the beating that comes to pass. This starts it off nicely, while the hospital confrontations are just as fun with the battle in the morgue really getting some rather enjoyable supernatural brawls that bring his powers to the forefront which is another strong point here. It really into the cheesy side of this one, but it does give this one somewhat of a fun time here by adding another strong supernatural force to this one that matches the leprechaun powers in order to make this a bit more of an even match that adds to the finale instead of it being so one- sided and forcing him to rely on trickery here instead of luck which is how they'd dealt with him in the past. Still, this one really makes the most here by strictly focusing on the cheesy atmosphere present as the fact that this one goes for the different wishes by each of those who come into contact with the coins which allows for the fun of trying to keep the two out his room as he has the coin they want leading to the contamination sequence in the room, the fantasy woman coming to life in the owner's suite being just a ploy against him, and the fates of the unscrupulous ones who take the coin for themselves being quite fun as really goofy, cheesy scene with the finale providing this one with some fine gore that was missing from the cheesy scenes elsewhere, these here give this one enough to like that it really gives this one a lot to really like against the few flaws here. Again, like the others in the series, this one does tend to focus more on cheese than being scary or frightening while also forging new rules for dealing with him that don't make much sense, so they're not as big a deal as the film's rather bland, lifeless first half here where it sets up the down-on-his-luck atmosphere too much and keeps the kills and leprechaun off-screen which drags the pacing off. These are the film's flaws.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, Nudity and a sex scene.
Andrew Gold Leprechaun is another one of those horror franchises that goes on and on, sequel after sequel, new cast and crew every time, all that jazz, but unlike its fellow horror franchises like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street, Leprechaun doesn't even try to be good. They're all unconscionably dumb. Self-aware, but dumb. There isn't even a thread of a narrative to connect the movies other than there's an evil leprechaun who speaks in ridiculous rhymes and needs his gold and will kill anyone in his way to get it. But for any fan of camp, Leprechaun may be the horror franchise for you. And I'm using horror in the absolute loosest sense of the word because I got more shivers down my spine watching Jack and Jill than I did during any of these movies. What puts it in the horror category is simply the fact that it's an evil entity that likes to kill people, and there's bountiful gore and T&A. Having said all that, Leprechaun 3 is probably the best in the series. There's something oddly fitting about the Leprechaun running around Vegas using real magic to fool gamblers and phony magicians, which makes for some entertaining developments. The cast is passable. Discussing the acting in a Leprechaun movie is as fruitful as analyzing the intricacies between Adam Sandler's Jack and Adam Sandler's Jill (I don't know why Jack and Jill is my go-to comparison but sure, why not). But overall, it's passable; a huge improvement over Leprechaun 2's acting which was just infuriating to watch. The movie actually has a plot, too! One of the Leprechaun's gold coins falls into the wrong hands and goes from person to person in a casino, granting the holder whatever they wish for. Again, story-wise this is by far the most practical of the Leprechaun movies. What prevents this from being a great movie is the fact that it's vehemently stupid. I know that's the point, but there were moments where Leprechaun 3 felt like a legitimately decent movie. I enjoyed where the plot was going, the Leprechaun was throwing some classic one-liners, the deaths were highly amusing, but then it would shift gears and focus on a particular character or subplot that no one cares about and it would kill its momentum. If the whole movie focused on the main narrative of the coin going 'round and 'round the casino and the Leprechaun having to go through hurdles to find it and kill every poor sap in his path, it would've been a good movie. But they throw in crap like the Leprechaun now has werewolf powers so if he bites someone, they'll also turn into a leprechaun. Also before the Leprechaun actually gets to the casino, the movie is really boring. It's like ten minutes of the Leprechaun antagonizing some random store owner and spitting out stupid dialogue for the sake of spitting out stupid dialogue with no advancement to the plot.Truthfully, I enjoyed this movie. A lot more than I thought I would actually. The first Leprechaun was decent, just barely, because Jennifer Aniston was great eye-candy. The second one was an abomination even by camp horror standards. This is one of those instances where the third time really is a charm. I mean, it's not much of a charm, but it accomplishes what it sets out to. It's amusing, it's ridiculous, basically the quintessential stoner horror movie, and it reaches the potential that its predecessors missed. Now, is it a good movie? Get the f*ck out of here. You know it's not. But is it a fun watch? Sure it is, especially if you're under the influence of a foreign substance. Even then, as far as campy horror movies go, you could do a lot worse than Leprechaun 3. You could do a lot better, too.
dawsonswenson6 Warwick Davis again reprises his role as the evil rhyming Leprechaun with a hunger for his gold, but this time... He's in Las Vegas! Vegas to me seems like the perfect place for a Leprechaun to be. He does a lot of humorous things in this film, that it leaves out a bit of the horror, but it is still a great instalment to the franchise. Where do I begin to start. Well for instance the new fact that if you have a coin of the Leprechaun's and you can make a wish if you have it is new, and I find it to be a very good thing, guy wishes for a winning street and wins big in Vegas, how fun is that? And what about the sex robot? I know it probably could have looked better, but I still find that it gives a thrill there and I got a laugh out of it. And another twist is that if you get Leprechaun blood on you or mixed with your blood... You yourself become a Leprechaun. I would say that makes a lot of sense, and it is funny to see the second main character (The first being the Leprechaun) turn into a Leprechaun and be tempted to take the gold for himself, plus it was funny when the Leprechaun flipped the other to mains off. But without a doubt, the greatest about this movie is when the Leprechaun stops to play Craps at the Casino while still looking for his pot of gold, it just seems like the thing that he would do, and when I saw him do that, then those guys come to try and make him stop, then he shoves a token down that guys throat and makes him spit out a lot of coins like a slot machine. I fell on the floor laughing! This is a great film, again it is a bit more comedy then horror, but I find that to be for the better, I recommend this movie to anyone that wants a bunch of laughs, this is your movie. This movie is an 8 out of 10.
