Synopsis

Instead of really living her life since losing her mother at age 7, Seattle lawyer Amy Myer sticks to a foolproof 'timeline' her mother drew as a guideline to help plot the course of her life. The timeline, which proves to be accurate in all other respects, predicts that Amy should marry her seventh boyfriend. However, Amy must question her instincts when she feels that her sixth boyfriend is the one she should marry, not the predicted seventh. Now she must decide whether to follow her mother's advice, or follow her own heart.

maudie_ruth121 Bored on a Sunday afternoon, I chose to watch this movie on cable. As it turns out, the flick was good but not great. Basically it is a typical cable movie where guy likes girl, girl ignores him & dates another, guy asks her out, romantic high jinks ensue. The film begins with a 7 1/2 year old Amy painting in the dining room. Eventually she heads out to the patio and has a sweet talk with her dying mother. It is here that her mother offers a time line for Amy to follow as she grows older, including the idea that Amy marry boyfriend number 7. Then the movie segues to Amy, aged 27. Now she's a lawyer who hates her job and is still clinging to her mothers "guide to life." Soon, we meet Peter the Bagel Boy & David. Naturally a love triangle follows and boyfriend number 6 wins.At times Amy simply annoyed me with her twenty-year-old obsession withe the timeline & David appeared too perfect. However, I did like Peter, as his character appeared to be the most realistic. If you're looking for a light and fluffy way to pass an hour or so, go ahead and watch. Otherwise, get off the couch and vacuum or take a nap.
Dan Aldridge I've loved Kimberly Williams since I first saw her in Safe House (1998/I). Candid photos of her on IMDB reveal a wonderful self-confidence. I can see her being cast as a successful, professional businesswoman. However, to me she doesn't quite fit as a high-powered shark (lawyer). Coincidentally, that is one of the conflicts that make the movie what it is. It really pulls the viewer into a tangle of emotions, romance, uncertainty and destiny. Amy wants to follow her mother's plan to marry just the right man, but, love is a funny thing and Amy's emotions just won't behave themselves. It made me cry! Along the way is an amazingly appropriate musical score that is poignant without being overpowering. On the lighter side, I was intrigued by the supporting cast of unknown celebrity look-alikes, including Brad Rowe, who looks like Brad Pitt, as a prime candidate for the Lucky #7. If you like romantic stories, this is a must. Score 9 of 10.
logans_mom00 Oh, how I wish I had taped this movie! Now I will be desperately looking for it to air again. Kimberly Williams does such a great job - she seems very natural in this character (makes me wonder if she is a control freak in real life or just a great actress ;) Patrick Dempsey is adorable - I hope we see more of him, soon. I wouldn't call this a romantic comedy, as it made me tear up much more than laugh, but it was very romantic. As another plus, the soundtrack is phenomenal.
AdorationOfFuzzySweaters Wow! This movie is great! I loved it so much that I saw it again right after I got done watching it the first time. I like Patrick Dempsey's character because he's charming and sweet. I really like this movie and I wouldn't mind seeing it again over and over. I don't think I could ever get sick of watching this movie.
