Santa is allergic to cats, so he has a policy against delivering them as gifts, but little Tommy has been SO good, and all he wants is one small kitty. Santa says OK, but instead of one, the whole litter climbs into the sack. When Santa has a major allergic reaction, the kittens have to take over and deliver the presents on time.

Reviews

Paul Magne Haakonsen Admittably, I didn't really have much of any expectations to this movie, given the synopsis of the storyline. But still, this was a movie that I sat down with the family to watch "Santa Claws" during the Christmas holidays of 2016.Now, I will say that "Santa Claws" actually turned out to be a rather enjoyable family movie. And it definitely was much better than what I had initially expected. The story is a bit silly, admittedly, especially for an adult audience. However, the storyline in "Santa Claws" is perfect for the Young members of the family. Jolly old Santa Claus becomes unable to finish his yearly gift run, and a group of kittens have to step up to make sure that Christmas runs its course and that the presents are delivered.Yeah right, you are thinking that too. And no one would blame you, because the storyline really is silly. But the children love it."Santa Claws" actually turned out to be wholehearted and quite entertaining, taking into consideration what it was. And despite a somewhat silly storyline, then there actually was something for everyone in the family to enjoy here. Personally, I was entertained by the cute kittens running around, and I got sucked in to the story quite easily. This is definitely a movie that is more than well-suited for the younger members of the family, but it is also a movie that the entire family can sit down together and enjoy.I must admit that I was a bit puzzled by the low rating that the movie had acquired here on IMDb, because I found it to be a rather enjoyable movie actually, just don't put too much into it - take it for what it is.My rating of "Santa Claws" is a 6 out of 10 stars, as it is a very suitable movie for the entire family.
Jean John I like Christmas movies and live with a cat. So I guess I should be a the target audience for this movie. But the movie is terrible and unenjoyable at every level. The production is cheap, acting is bad, and story is uninteresting. The Santa Claus character is not really likable and there is no magic about him. The premise of the movie is that Santa is allergic to cats and has pretty much every common allergy. The story takes place 95% in one house and the block around. There are only 4 characters (excluding the cats) and they are pretty much all the human beings you get to see in the movie. The movie feels really... Small.Other reviewers say the movie is so bad it's enjoyable for laughs, or they think some of it is made in purpose. It's not. This movie will only make you cringe.Maybe some young children could enjoy this movie, but then again, why not have them watch something of better quality that is enjoyable for all the family?
JaynaB In the tradition of Shaun of the Dead or Fido, the humour is campy and the effects deliberately annoying. The cats are a wondrous mockery of those endless puppies-save-Christmas movies. The kids universally can't act 'realistically' and the adults are B-move standards, but there are some wonderfully over-the-top freak-outs.This is absolutely not a movie to be taken seriously, just to be enjoyed for its send-up of pretty much every Christmas movie trope out there.
irishangelanna I liked this movie. If you are a cat lover, it's one to snuggle up with your kitty and some popcorn and enjoy the show! I thought the CGI affects were well done. I think it will become an annual cult classic type Christmas movie with the cat lovers out there. Yes, you have to let yourself go and just enjoy the movie for what it is, a fun little Christmas movie. Yes, it's a little on the B low budget side, but not anymore than most of the Lifetime movies I've seen. I actually think it's a darling little movie that leaves you with a feel good feeling. And what more could I want from a holiday movie? The kittens are adorable and the kid does a fairly good job as an actor. And the actors that did the voices of the kittens and the mom cat were perfect matches. And the head reindeer were a hoot! I even liked Tinsel, and thought it was a great creative touch with the sleigh. If you love lighthearted Christmas movies with a Santa theme and love cats, you'll like this one! To the "Scrooge" reviewers, I say lighten up, plug in your Christmas lights and lose yourself in the fantasy for 90 minutes! To the one reviewer who thinks it's a parody on holiday films, and will watch it annually, good for you! :) I didn't see it that way, but at least you're in the holiday spirit of things. I'm going to buy it on DVD. I'm addicted to Christmas movies and my fur-baby (my cat) liked it, which is why it got an 8 with me!
