dh-t21 There are story elements in this movie, that make it a great animated movie, that can only be truely enjoyed the 1st time the movie is seen & lose their effect on subsequent viewings.
hecoxjus This movie is like an ogre. It has layers. One of the best Dreamworks movies to date, easily. By layers, I mean different layers of complexity. By far the most prominent element was the humor. It was littered with jokes to appeal kids, and it will make adults shake their heads in disbelief at the nerve of the director to throw in an ass joke or two. Then, there's the plot and premise. The plot is actually really well developed, with some twists, suspense, and creativity. The premise of the fairy tales all existing in one universe is really cool as well. It all works together to create a really entertaining movie for all ages.
Majikat A nice little revisit to where it all began, such a clever move, using fairy tale creatures which encourages the franchise to go on and on. Whilst it will remain a timeless classsic, there are some moments that were very popular at that time, like the wrestling that was encorporated into the tale. For the first time ever, I noticed that the scrolls had a blue 'f' on them like Facebook. Not your typical fairy tale!
t-13196 Shrek made me understand why I'm human. It gave me the answers I have been searching for my entire life and I am now able to descend to the greater swamp.
