Syl The story of Bethany Hamilton is quite inspiring. She was born to surfers in Hawaii and surfing is in her blood. When we watch the movie, we see how surfing is a big part of her life. Her parents are played by Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt. They are terrific in their roles as her parents. Craig T. Nelson has a small role as the doctor. Kevin Sorbo has a supporting role. The actress who played Bethany Hamilton did a terrific job in the role. The scenery is just magnificent and beautiful of course in Hawaii. I was surprised to learn that Bethany has been home-schooled on the islands. Her family belongs to the Fellowship Church on the island. Carrie Underwood played Sarah Hill, a minister. Bethany and her best friend Alana miss a missionary trip to Mexico. Sadly, Bethany's arm was bit off by a shark bite. She survived luckily but she had to rebuild and learn to live her life on her own terms. The film is inspiring to anybody who has overcome such hardship. The final moments of the film has actual footage of the real Bethany and her family.

Samantha Cordero The message of this inspirational film is to never give up and no matter what situation comes to you, you can always overcome it. Bethany Hamilton is challenged with learning how to do the tough and the basic things with one arm. Throughout the film, there are negative barriers especially soon after the attack. People perceived Bethany as less than or as incapable but Bethany as refuses to give up, she proves that she is capable of doing anything though she may have to take different approaches. Bethany demonstrates this through surfing. Soul Surfer is a such a inspirational film, not just for teenage girls but for everyone to show that one should never give up their passions and dreams just because of an occurrence.

Whas I decided to watch it because I didn't have the movie that I actually wished to watch that night. I knew the actress thank to "Bridge to Terabithia", so I said "let's see how it is". I honestly don't care about surf, so I didn't expect too much from "Soul Surfer". But I have to admit that I was wrong! I don't know why it's rated only 7.1, I rate it 10/10! And I'm not always gentle in rating movies. The story is really great! And the way she passes through these experiences is greater!!! It's touching and emotional, but it also shows you the bright side! She's so solar! This really give you hope. Thank you. Bethany Hamilton, you got all my respect and appreciation. Go on like this, and good luck for your future!

Anna Sophia Robb has done complete justice in portraying the feelings, emotions and resolution of amazing Bethany Hamilton.The movie also speaks volumes about the role of family and their unwavering support , care , faith and believe in ensuring that dreams of any family member do see the light of the day. With songs like set the world on fire , its your life and many more the movie replenishes one's soul to take on life head on.
