brchthethird I've never been much of a SOUTH PARK fan, mostly because the same-y voices get on my nerves and the animation style isn't that aesthetically pleasing. Still, the send-up of America's morbid, puritan obsession with "smut" and "profanity" in pop culture while ignoring violence was funny and relevant. It also doesn't hurt that there are a number of hilarious songs. A lot of the humor had me scratching my head, or was mildly shocking for its audacity. However, none of it was less than interesting. This doesn't necessarily make me want to go back and catch up on 19 seasons of episodes, but maybe I'll go check out a few.
SlyGuy21 It wasn't until my late teens that I realized just how smart "South Park" was. The show's managed to survive because it changes with the times. It's topics change, it pokes fun at everything, and the jokes are constantly changing. Is every episode of the show perfect? No. But unlike other adult animated shows, this has aged the best. The message of this film is presented just how you'd think Parker and Stone would do it, but it still holds true today. And it'll more than likely be relevant for many years to come. I plan on watching every episode of "South Park" starting with Season 4, after a few other shows I want to cover. But until then, I suggest this as the starting point for people who want to get introduced to the show.
Daniel Dell Although the animation is crude, that's the charm of the South Park franchise. This is one of my favorite films based on a cartoon, and one of my all-time favorite animated films released by Paramount Pictures, next to the Adventures of Tintin. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut is way better than Jetsons: The Movie, and is really amazing. It's one of the greatest animated musicals of all time, next to Frozen and Yellow Submarine. It is very funny, and is very clever. As a South Park fan, I really think that this is definitely acceptable for all the South Park fans worldwide, and is the best adult animated film released by Paramount Pictures. It had a very original story, amazing characters, decent animation (although pretty crude), and a soundtrack of unforgettable songs. This is the best R-rated animated movie ever.
Ben Davis Ah, how refreshing. I can't remember the last time I watched a comedy that actually made me laugh. This movie is a truly hilarious one. It's jokes are incredibly crude, yet they're also amazingly intelligent. South Park's traditional satire and general parodying of everything and everyone is not lost in the transition from TV to film. The genius writing is still here. The idea of looking at problems through the eyes of children is a brilliant one and opens many opportunities for laugh out loud comedy. Trey Parker and Matt Stone jumped on those opportunities and now we have this film. Surprisingly enough, the music is really, really awesome. Each song is both funny and pleasant to listen to. Trey Parker and Matt Stone put an extraordinary amount of effort into this film and it paid off big time. Seek this film out.
