EatThatPie Ok I am not a hater, but i've never seen such a terrible example of Star Wars on screen before. I have a lot to say about this show, but bear with me.This show is supposed to be a direct sequel to Star Wars: the Clone Wars, which was one of the best shows ever made. Most episodes were cinematic adventures., where you actually cared about the characters and you were worried if they were going to die, and you actually got something out of it. In Star Wars Rebels, nobody ever dies, except a few Stormtroopers, who, by the way, turn out to only be "knocked out" by the end. And there's no lessons learned by the end of the episode. Its just terrorists blowing up something made by the empire and then getting away. Literally in every episode they steal Stormtrooper armor and attack the Empire without getting hurt or loosing anything. Remember in A New Hope, where the Empire was menacing and seemed impossible to defeat? Well in this show they are literally so stupid every time they try something they end up loosing. Every time. There is a scene where the Rebels, as a distraction, throw a midget alien onto the window. So the empire officers immediately whip out their guns and shoot at the obviously impervious glass, and then they KEEP SHOOTING AT IT.I guess the biggest reason I dislike this show is the characters. The writers try to make us care about them, but honestly I could care less since none of them are in the movies. So lets start with Ezra. So apparently we're supposed to treat Ezra like young Anakin, except he has no parents, and he randomly finds out he has the force in the first episode. Not only that, he doesn't die in the end, which he should of, because Rey and Luke were the LAST JEDI. I never liked Ezra's character. Sabine. The writers tried to make her so important by suddenly, all in one episode, she becomes some sort of queen of mandalore and she randomly becomes super good at using a dark saber, which means she basically can't die. Zeb. Oh my gosh, i've never hated anyone or anything more than this guy. He is litterally supposed to be the "chewbacca" of Rebels but I hate him so much. His design is even based off concept art for Chewie. Maybe, just maybe, i can like him, if he didnt talk. Thats why everyone loves Chewbacca. He doesn't talk, so the audience can just fill in what they think he's saying, because he's funnier that way but at the same time, he's super powerful. We seriously can't have an episode without these terrible characters, there was one episode that was supposed to be all about Darth Maul trying to enact his revenge on obi-wan Kenobi, which would have been awesome, But the writers have half the episode just watching Ezra and Chopper walk around in the Desert. We didn't need that, you just put them in the episode because you think the episode would do better with them. When I heard this show's design would be based off of Ralph McQuarrie's concept art, I was excited. Except maybe if the animation wasnt so bad it would be cool. But skinny lightsabers? No. Ugly AT-AT's? Nope. Darth Vader looked pretty awesome, but for some reason he's only in like 2 episodes and then he never comes back. (???)And they bring Ahsoka back. I mean, that was sorta cool, and the only moment I liked about this show was when she realized Darth Vader was her old master, Anakin, but they ruin her too by bringing her back to life in the last Season, and, like Ezra, she just hangs out somewhere in the galaxy, doing nothing, When Luke is supposed to be the last Jedi.Ok another thing: The first inquisitor was kinda cool. He was a hard villian to defeat and he had a cool duel with Ezra, which he died. So at the beginning of season two, it starts with Ezra and Kanan fighting two new inquisitors. What? Thats not how you start a season, randomly throw in two more super powerful villains with no backstory! Not only that, but the inquisitors...get ready...start spinning their lightsabers, and they fly away. Like helicopters. I swear im not joking. They do it throughout the entire episode. Can you imagine, in The Phantom Menace, if Darth Maul just started spinning his lightsaber, and he flies away? This show is SO BAD compared to Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I honestly will never understand why EVERYONE loves it so much. Sorry my review was so long, but you just have to understand this show is kiddie garbage.
ricesteb Could have been very good but it seems like they don't let them do what the writers wanted to or they don't have the thing sorted out. It is very common that animation for the US market has issue with killing, if the enemy is using a helmet or is in a ship, then kill him and no problem. But if is one of the main antagonist and maybe killed hundreds and will continue to destroy everything, well, you can't kill that character on purpose if you are the good guy. It is funny how they force push stormtropper to their doom and destroy entire ships without remorse. Also Ezra almost always is behaving like a child. Someone: "don't do that" Ezra : "what? i can do whatever i want, you will see........ you were right"Just want to see it end but am not hoping nothing amazing about the story.
Rorschach From movie to series failed so bad. Those positive reviewers who gave 7 stars above.. What are they thinking? Disney are like zombies tearing the flesh of those true Star Wars fans apart and feed on their money paid to watch these garbage. Killing Star Wars slowly with really stupid plots and ideas. Those who enjoy the Rebels and the Force Awakens, I dare to say that you are not true fans but just Star Wars addicts or mind of a kid or an immature teen. Anything that brands with a Star Wars logo SW addicts will support it blindly i notice that.. I never hated Disney before, they do well in Pirates of the Caribbean. I like that. But ever since they took over Star Wars, they have been producing garbage and mass feeding it to the world to people not knowingly who eats it. How can i like the Disney now who tries to feed me rubbish. (Except that if you are kids, its normal for you to like the SW Rebels) Cos there are some level of childishness in this series, not to mention the predictable story line yet. From all their positive reviews i can tell they have no clue at all what is the true force of Star Wars that binds together fans who truly understands it. Basically if you at least correctly understand about the conspiracy of Chancellor Palpatine on why he is helping The Republic and Separatists at the same time then in the end why did he gave up on the Separatists then you are a true Star Wars fan or at least someone who watch the movies seriously. If you think Star Wars is good due to some romance, action, cool outfits, light saber, some heroic speeches etc... Then you are someone who are just passing by just to watch a movie to pass time.. This SW Rebel is just some kids show to me honestly. Disney seems trying to make it look cute for kids, might as well add in Donald Duck and Mickey into SW rebels to make it more cute so all kids will have a good laugh. Seriously Disney production are getting lame these days. All the Star Wars made by Disney are not link at all. They just try to make it look linked up.. The book of the Star Wars already ended before Disney took over. I feel much better to think this way.. I never add any of Disney Stars Wars Production to my collection cos they are trash and not related. Real version of Star Wars ended with The Clone Wars. After that its just Disney's make believe Star Wars not link with the book of Star Wars at all.
connorb-90322 Star Wars Rebels is a Star Wars TV show set between Star Wars 3 and Rogue One. It follows the group of rebels and their fight against the empire while building the rebellion as we know it. While the first season is not fantastic the second and third seasons are defiantly a step in the right direction. We follow the character named Ezra Bridger who is an orphan on the empire controlled planet of Lothal. Ezra ends up joining a small group of rebels in their fight against the rebellion while he is trained in the ways of the Jedi.If you were disappointed that The Clone Wars ended with a lot of unanswered questions. Then you will be happy to hear that a lot of those questions are answered in this show. While also bringing up some new questions. For anyone that is unsure if they would enjoy Rebels or not I urge you to go give it a try because it is a great show.8/10
