ebiros2 A chartered cruise on a luxury yacht turns into a nightmare when it catches fire and a couple barely escapes to a seemingly deserted island. They have to survive the ordeal, but their personalities are not exactly matching. It's a different kind of movie from the standard American movie format. Cruising on a chartered yacht isn't part of the American psyche as much as it is with the Europeans. I'm into boats, so I kind of like this type of movie. The movie is beautifully produced even if the story is somewhat predictable. I watched it without expecting much, but I got more than I expected.Luckily for them, the island has coconut trees, and they have water and food from them as well as fishes and lobsters from the reef.Survival themed programs were popular when this movie was made, and it reminds me of watching Survivor or some other reality show, but the actors were lot better in this movie.I kind of liked this movie, it wasn't as boring as some reviewers have mentioned. It's just a different kind of a story from the usual Hollywood adventure movies. I liked the scenery, and the island little bit made me wish that I was there.
lastliberal Kelly Brook walks out of the water onto the beach just like Ursula Andress in that Bond film. The difference is that Brook is much hotter. After a fire on a charter boat, Jennifer (Brook) and her husband Jack (Billy Zane) are stranded along with Manuel (Juan Pablo Di Pace). Now, this is not a good mix by any stretch of the imagination: a hot Latin lover-boy, a beautilicious babe, and a husband that is insanely jealous and full of himself.Things come to a head and they are full at it, trying to kill each other. Who will survive and get the babe? Oh, did you forget Gail (Gabrielle Jourdan)? Not sure she was really necessary, but she was hot! The ending was so sweet.
Neil Welch Three is a glorious piece of trash cinema. There are two strong arguments in favour of it, and they both belong to Kelly Brook. Washed up on a very small but highly photogenic desert island with nothing but a yellow cardie, a chiffon scarf, and a tiny white bikini (which she sheds at the drop of a hat, not that hats are very much in evidence), she is wholly dependent on Spanish boat boy Juan Pablo Di Pace for survival. Then, after a couple of days her rich husband Billy Zane washes up, assumes the two of them have been at it like rabbits and bingo! We have an eternal triangle.Actually, that's not so bad as a concept. Where Three falls down is in the execution, for what then transpires is the most lurid of melodramas, based on the improbable supposition that Zane's character, faced with survival on the most marginal of terms, will prove to be so insecure, paranoid, and downright delusional, that he will monomaniacally devote critical resources towards the destruction of his imagined rival. OK, so this situation isn't arrived at in a single leap, but that is basically what goes wrong.Zane, of course, never someone to knowingly underperform, chews the attractive scenery (literally as far as the coconuts are concerned) with relish. Brook overflows from the bikini very nicely which seems to be the sole reason the two men lock horns, because it's surely not for her thoughtful problem-solving approach to their predicament: she brings all the depth of a very shallow puddle to the character. Only Di Pace emerges with dignity, giving us a credible boatboy who finds himself in a situation which is completely beyond his control. And I don't mean the shipwreck. On the other hand, the movie is one of those which is so bad as to be fairly entertaining!
rsgeorge5 How much do I love this film?! Now I'm not a fan of bad films, but I do love a film that is so bad it's good. This is one of those. Juan Pablo Di Pace has a great butt, looks fab on screen, and definitely doesn't make a bad turn at his acting debut (I believe). Billy Zane is suitably mean and moody, though I still constantly feel that there is something more in him. I felt it in Titanic, the look on his face when La Winslet spat on him for example, totally broken, shocked, and put-down ... fierce! Kelly Brook is a pretty face ... no seriously, I think that's it! It's worth catching this to see one really hot guy, some big bra fillers from Brook, nasty growling from Billy, laugh at the dialogue, revel in the scenery and madness of the whole affair ... I'm gona go watch it again now - yes, I bought it!!!
