adrian-43767 THE FORGOTTEN is best... forgotten. Pity to see actors of the highest grade, like Moore and Sinise, lost in this very poor imitation of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS.Photography is first rate, direction has its moments, at times this film even manages to be stylish, but the story is utterly unbelievable from the start. What is the moral lesson here? Aliens are bad? Never FORGET that life and time are elyptical? Inevitable question: how could anybody finance this pointless exercise?
uselessDM Well, this movie makes no sense at all, but I would lie if I said I didn't enjoy it. The whole plot seems to be about the connection between mother and child which some unknown (but able to catapult people into space) force is trying to understand. Why? Who knows! Who cares! The atmosphere is nice and the performances are decent, but not groundbreaking. The camera work is nice and the music fittingly creepy. I enjoyed the catapult-into-space scenes, although, again, they don't make any sense. Overall, like I said, it didn't make sense, but I enjoyed it. I don't know anything about the alternate ending, but it seems to be good.
bowmanblue I don't normally write reviews containing 'Spoilers,' but it seems that a – semi – spoiler is required to make sure that this film is seen by those who will appreciate it the most. Apparently, 'The Forgotten' was not received as well as it might, largely because a proportion of the audience expected a 'rational' explanation to why Julianne Moore's child had gone missing. However (and here's the semi-spoiler), the 'explanation' is anything but ordinary. The Forgotten plays out like an extended episode of 'The X-files' (and we all know what was really going on behind the scenes there). So, if you don't like science fiction, then you're probably not going to like this.Although, whereas The X-files' world was – as best it could – based in reality, The Forgotten doesn't require looking into that closely. In fact... the more you look into the story, the more plot holes you'll probably find (and therefore your enjoyment will diminish with each fact you find which is most likely impossible in real life). However, as with most films, The Forgotten isn't real and therefore you need to seriously suspend your disbelief to get anything out of it.So, if you like X-films-type films/tales and are prepared not to overlook certain elements of the story which would probably be impossible to pull off in the real world, then you should enjoy this. The performances are good, it has a decent amount of tension and is suitably creepy where required.Don't look too hard at the story... just watch the skies!http://thewrongtreemoviereviews.blogspot.co.uk/
mythologicalnexuspoint I love the third and final version of this video. The original Forgotten video was made before 1975. The second version of Forgotten was released in 2004. And, the third Forgotten was released in 2014.This movie was released in the same fashion as C is for Cycle by Ernesto Diaz Espinoza. The original C is for Cycle was made before 1975, a second version of C is for Cycle was released in 2012 and the final version of C is for Cycle was released in 2014.C is for Cycle from the ABC's of death combined with Forgotten is about a third person with two brothers fearing his death. The friends of the third brother and the second brother all worked tirelessly together to create an inspiring series of films, hoping to impress their superior and almighty Creator. Part of the mystery was to dupe one of the brothers into believing they were a different person while heavily sedated. I hope it worked. Did it?
