jeneega I want to start off by saying that the Jessica Biel did an amazing job, and was the perfect character for the role. Also, the cinematic picture was lovely. There was some good, but a lot of bad. This film was a bit complicated not because it was hard to comprehend, but because of all of the components to it. When I say that, I mean to say that it seemed as if there were several plots within this film that made sense, but not necessarily together. There wasn't much of a coherent flow, but I understand what the film is portraying. I don't think "The Tall Man" is an appropriate name for the film, especially how it opens up with the narration speaking of him, because it makes it out to seem as if it is a horror movie. It is far from that, I think of it as a suspense/thriller/drama. When first watching the film, "The Tall Man" might be viewed as an entity/supernatural being, which it is not. The title has no real significance to the theme of this motion picture. I'm aware that not all movie titles have to be explicitly/continuously/distinctly/what have you mentioned in the film itself, but personally, I found it to be misleading. The different stories that were basically tied into the film: A.) "The Tall Man" kidnaps kids and is first made out to be some mysterious figure. This is what makes the film seem like it's going to fall under the horror genre. B.) Julia is the angelic nurse that everyone loves. Her son, David, gets abducted one night and Julia chases "The Tall Man" until the ends of the earth. She is left defeated. C.) Mrs. Johnson is the first rendition of "The Tall Man" and is the one who abducted David. D.) Mrs. Johnson is actually the mother of David. Julia is the bridge between all of the abducted children and "The Tall Man" since she delivers them to him. E.) Julia's moral intentions are distorted because she wants to break the "cycle" and she is "The Tall Man" because she abducts the children herself. She takes them from their underprivileged homes/families in order for them improve their lives and be a part of affluent families. F.) The literal tall man that takes Jenny in the end can be considered one adaptation of "The Tall Man." G.) Jenny has a new life and contemplates going back to her old life, but doesn't. Well, I guess I summarized the entire movie in minuscule bullet points. To be honest, watching the film is quite scattered and not as coherent as these A-G points seem. It's very choppy and makes sense, but not together. To each their own, though.
mystical_trick Recently, best mystery film, i have watched. So fast running.Absolutely you have to watch this film. And the point is not real, 6 point is so low for this film.Absolutely STUNNİNG.Jessica Biel is so amazing at this film. And the other actors is good too.Editing is perfect and scenario is excellent too.In film, in the beginning of this film i thought film is so simple but later i understood that film is not simple so much. You have to think for this film because film is so complicated.you will never get bored at this film.Go to Amazon and buy this film.I have watched this film 100 times. As a result, in my opinion 10 point is enough for this film.
chun li From a technical standpoint, its professionally made. Audio sounds particularly impressive. That said, the story is a whole load of nothing. Jessica Biel is attractive.*warning, massive spoiler alert coming up* The most unexpected member of the community, an attractive nurse (Jessica Biel) is involved in the taking of children from underprivileged families and allowing them to lead a better life with wealthy people. All the while, the families of the missing children put the disappearances down to a mystery character called the Tall Man, who is believed to live in the woods. The nurse believes, by doing what she is doing, she is breaking the cycle of white trash having children only for them to grow up and turn into white trash and have children. How this film got the green light remains a mystery. It's estimated budget was $18,200,000. A figure obtained from IMDb. There's no way this film could have made it's money back.2/10
goodacu Some say this film "...makes you think"...think what? So, let me get this straight. Are they thinking that it could be okay to kidnap and disappear children if you or your self-appointed group feel the parents don't have enough money to raise them in a way that is up to your standard and I'm not talking about the abuse issue here, just money. While this movie is a good thriller, it's immoral message is very disturbing for me. The fact that the end is not depicted as a tragedy, seems to play into any and all dangerous extremest fanatical cult-type thinking. For me, these people were monsters and the most disturbing thing about the film is that there are so many people who don't see the implications inherent its story.
