dhainline1 I know it's not very popular to like the villain of V better than the heroes, but Diana was a strong, attractive alien woman who never let anyone walk all over her and she knew herself and her own mind much better than Julie Parrish (Faye Grant). They tried to remake V with another attractive woman as Anna the leader of the aliens, but the actress never achieved what Jane Badler did! When Diana came on the scene, you knew someone would be in deep, deep trouble. I did think Mike Donovan (Marc Singer) was a good-looking, tall young guy who held his own against Diana quite well! John (Richard Herd) was a weak commander of the aliens and Diana was smart enough to see this. Steven (Andrew Prine) had zero respect for Diana because I guess he was a bit of a sexist who hated being bossed around by a woman. Pamela who was another alien tried to one-up Diana but she could never achieve the one oneupmanship which was why Diana killed her. I know the story ends with the aliens being defeated, but they would have succeeded if John, Steven, and Pamela would have listened to her.
Brian T. Whitlock (GOWBTW) Since the first one deals with the invasion of the Alien Visitors, this one heads off where the battle continues on. Since the resistance have found turncoat visitors on their side, things seem to go their way. On National TV, Julie Parrish(Faye Grant) exposes them them. Since the majority of the "Visitors" all have single names, Brian(Peter Nelson) gets Robin(Blair Tefkin) pregnant produces a half-breed with awesome powers. The other is a full-blooded humanoid alien, it dies. They discover a a way to take out the "Visitors". Only one thing; they have to find the turncoats so that they don't get killed. They're given an antidote from the "Red Dust", they get Ham Tyler(Michael Ironside), the toughest of all resistance. Along with fellow visitor Willie(Robert Englund, the future "Freddy Krueger") to help fight against his own people. Since he was sent to the wrong country, he was a big help all the way. He avenged Harmony's killer, and was a big help with Elizabeth(The Star Child). Great mini-series, and the show was a blast! 4 out of 5 stars!
jeffman52001 "V:The Final Battle really does show that follow ups are really great.the cast of "V" return in this great follow up.The war with the Visitor has heated up,the resistance is getting beat some but really fight back with the help of the Fifth Column, led by Martin.Robin gives birth to a half human, half Visitor baby, which she names Elizabeth.Elizabeth is the hope for all.I like the fate of Daniel Bernstein got set up by the resistance.Daniel will be on a serving platter for what happened to Brian, that is Daniel's punishment by the Visitor,Steven, played by Andrew Prine(Amityville II:The Possession). The resistance set him up after he killed Ruby,a lady Daniel knew growing up.Michael Ironside(Spacehunter:The Adventures In The Forbidden Zone,SeaQuest 2032,and Total Recall)as Ham Tyler is a wonderful addition to the "V" franchise.Michael Ironside plays the roll of Ham Tyler really well.Mickey Jones(Savage Dawn,Total Recall, and National Lampoon's Vacation)is another,he plays Ham Tyler's associate,Chris Faber,Denise Galik-Furey as Maggie Blodgett,This follow up to "V" really did real well,I liked it when I saw it when it came out in 1984,and "V" The Series after.Kenneth Johnson did a great job creating this show and shows like "The Incredible Hulk" and "Alien Nation".I give "V:The Final Battle" 2 thumbs up and 10/10 stars.
John Murray V:The Final Battle is a worthy follow-up.Singer and Grant lead the large cast once again with standout performancesand are joined by a well-cast Michael Ironside who plays Ham Tyler as the ultimate tough guy with a 'tude.I forgot to mention Jane Badler in my review of the first mini, something I deeply regret. In both minis as Diana,Badler is one of the all-time great sci-fi villainesses. She commands every scenes she's in and her presence is felt when she's not.Having Bad in her last name doesn't hurt either. In terms of pure meanness she blows away Dynasty's Alexis in the Super Bitch sweepstakes. It's a lot of fun, filled with suspense and shocks, and great at the climax where we get to enjoy watching Singer,Grant,Ironside,et al kick some Visitor ass. 9 out of 10!
