O2D This is one of the best fake reality shows but it's still just fake crap.If you are not paying attention, you could easily be tricked into thinking this show is real.After using a tiny bit of common sense, it's extremely obvious that it's 100% fake.A lot of fools will say that it's not fake because the items they find are not planted.They say that because they are fools.While there's no way to prove if they are really "finding" anything, the rest of the show can easily be proved(that word should end with an N but this site won't allow it) to be fake.The easiest way to expose the fakeness is to just pay attention, it's really that simple.Did you ever notice when they claim to be "freestyling" they will pull into a driveway they claim to have never been in and then it cuts to a camera that is on the porch of this house that they have "never seen".Then when the door opens the person inside is mic-ed and they switch to a camera that is already in the house.Not to mention all the times they pass a camera on a dirt road.How about the aerial photography?Do you believe they have a helicopter following people who are driving around aimlessly?If you do, you are stupid.The fakest thing about this show is the extremely fake and ugly Danielle.They act like she's so important but she never actually does anything.She just wears t-shirts from bands she has never heard of because that's what the cool kids do.She thinks she's cool but she just fails hard.One time she wore a Memphis Murder Men shirt.There is absolutely no way she knows who they are.She's just an ugly old dumb cow who thinks she is hot.But I keep watching.Why?Because I want to see the episode when these two friends of Dorothy finally come out of the closet and get it on.

Mike American Pickers can be taken as different things. For me, I watch it when I want something that's somewhat educational as well as calming. There's no negative drama as other reality shows feature as their selling point. Yes, it is scripted to a degree. Anything with cameras will have to be. However, the interactions between Mike and Frank and the people they see are interesting.Danielle fills a role that is needed also. She may not be as informed as they are about items but she has more than enough know-how to manage their shop(s) and go out on the occasional pick.As far as others speaking on them ripping people off, they run a business. It's not charity. Most of these people who sell to them don't have the resources to do so on their own. I've also seen people compare Pickers to Antique Roadshow. Again, not the same thing. These guys are on the road, picking items that not everyone would consider to be valuable. It's a niche thing. They're not sitting at a table for half an hour discussing one item without an interest to purchase it. And even those items may not be interesting to everyone. No one is making these people sell. I'd sell to them if I had something they'd be interested in. If I'm not going to keep it and I can make money then why not? This show clearly isn't for everyone, but there's no need to be ugly about it. While it is part entertainment there are levels of education. No one is saying you should forgo American History to watch this show but if you're looking for something interesting and a time-filler then this is the show for you. They've passed through my neck of the woods and I've not heard anything negative about them.The only draw-back is when they feature others on the show like the Pawn Stars and American Restoration. It just takes away from the show.

ljs277 I used to enjoy this show a lot more but not as much since Danielle took on a bigger role. I love the interaction between Mike and Frank and the many characters they meet on the road. I have to assume that Danielle lobbied for a bigger role, and that change has taken something away from the show.

sstyles1972 Like so many other shows this one began simple with the two guys digging for "rusty gold". Then as time past they learned that lots of old men (and women) were more interested in Danielles cup size rather than the subject of the show. The viewers who made this show famous aren't watching for scripted jokes or how much skin the hired help can show. We want to see the pick....NOTHING ELSE. If I wanted a burlesque show then that's what I would watch. If people want to see Danielle and Mikes brother go on a date then maybe "History" channel should make that a separate show. Maybe they can hire Chumlee to hang out with them and compare who is the worse actor. Don't even get me started on Pawn Stars (which was also ONCE an interesting show)I'm VERY close to stop watching Pickers all together. Sorry Mike, You're a great guy but you're letting the show go in all the wrong directions.
