Excellent to a point that is - until Season 7. Okay, you can be the judge of this.Army Wives - all 7 seasons - is now available on Netflix. If you like soap operas, then this is a 10. I originally tried watching it after buying Army Wives all 7 seasons at a garage sale for $1.00 but when I tried to watch it, I just got through season 1 and the rest of the discs would not play, so I was delighted to see this on Netflix (2016). As this is an old series, then let's just say the cat is out of the bag regarding cast changes, etc., but I did not know any of this when I watched it. I was enthralled all the way thru season 5 and they had a good story line going, which I was actually interested in, until it was obvious that the writers had started changing the original script to accommodate all of the actors leaving the show. They tried to add new characters to keep it going but it was too little too late and resulted in too much sad stuff and not enough to balance it out. I could not really connect with the new Army Waves once the original wives started bailing. I saw a lot of people took to the internet to try to keep this show from being canceled but - alas - there was nothing to really save. Ironically, the Army Wives characters could not give the support to each other in real life that they portray on screen. That being said - you can still enjoy seasons 1 thru 6 and make up your own ending, or watch season 7 and deal with that. It is a real tear jerker and is well worth the watch. The acting is excellent. I won't get into the political aspects except to say maybe they even stopped believing their own hype - I am a soldier and want to be at the forefront of the war, etc. Most people do it for the educational opportunities and a pay check and get out as soon as possible in one piece if possible. As for the character, Jeremy, the one flaw was that, if this Army Wife mother had really known her own son, she would have told him a resounding NO! - but you have to watch to find out.

I watched some of it. Typical of Lifetime movies and series', the women are the heroic, set-upon victims. Virtually every dialog involved either women bonding, or men failing to understand some problem encountered by a woman. It's simple. The men (and, for the sake of fairness, some women) get to be soldiers and make grand, bold sacrifices somewhere off-camera. In the meantime, the women, the ones left behind, are the ones with the real problems. Viewed from this framework, it is entirely too predictable to constitute good entertainment. Don't get me wrong here - the real Army/Navy/Marine wives here and now are making sacrifices that we should all honor. I just wish the program were more compelling.

The Federal Law regulating portrayal of military members on TV or in movies is United States Code Title 10, Subtitle A, Part II, Chapter 45, Section 772, sub-paragraph (f): The wearing of the armed force military uniform (Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps) can be worn by an actor in a theatrical or motion-picture production, if the portrayal does not tend to discredit that armed force. So inaccurate wearing of the uniform on any TV show or movie is either because the production staff does not research properly or they mean to reflect military service in a negative view. Considering that Army Wives means to shed a positive light on the life of military spouses, the inaccuracy in the wearing of uniforms and other misrepresentations of Army regulations, policies and procedures can then be attributed to a lack of prioritizing realism over story lines.I don't know if Army Wives employs a military technical adviser or not. If they do, then that individual needs to be empowered to make corrections in background activities (organized Physical Training is off limits in residential areas), as well as uniforms and other scenarios. If the show doesn't have a qualified technical adviser they should invest in one for credibility and realism.DISCLAIMER: I'm a retired Master Sergeant with a pet peeve for military inaccuracies.

I had been hearing all the buzz surround this new show called "Army Wives" and just had to check it out! I wasn't expecting to much considering it is on Lifetime. I watched the first episode and it was So-So but then about three or four episodes in I just fell in love! It was completely brilliant. It is one of those shows missing of late on TV clouded by mind-depleting reality horrors! Its one of those rare shows that touches the heart! I think the cast is brilliant and all have great chemistry together! I love Roxy and Pamela and their friendship so much. I will not lie and admit to the fact that Im a sucker for the Roxy and Trevor romance! Its just so sweet and something we all want in life! And not to mention the Drew and Sally have a fierce connection on screen together! Overall for the Type of Show it is and the network it is on I rated it as a Ten! Wildy unexpected that I fell in love! I would Recommend to all!
