TheLittleSongbird I am not saying this is the best show ever, because it isn't, but I like it. True it is very predictable at times, and may have some clichéd characters here and there and it is not the most original show ever admittedly. The animation is bright and colourful, and the music is nice. The writing is amusing and the stories do have their very good moments. I for one like the title character Sharon, her screaming and all that may annoy some, but she has a great and loyal personality, and I think Alicia Silverstone did a swell job voicing her.Overall, a good if not great show. 7/10 Bethany Cox
lorrie85 I love Braceface because it shows all the perils a teen goez thru. I I think that Disney did a Fantabulous job! Look past the unsignificance or her so-called MAGICAL BRACES, and look to the morals that are ended up being taught at the end of the show. It opens up a Teens eyes 2 see that the problems they think are big, are actually utterly small and unsignificant when everything comes down 2 the end. The sho is brilliant and full of Detail, Pizzaz, drama, and some comedy 2. This is all coming from an 8th grader too, that gets this sho totally & comletely and some of you adults just don't get the show's utter significance. THEY SHOULD Definitely PUT IT BACK ON Disney CHANNEL, because most of Disney channels shows 2day have teens in them, so it could totally go into the upbeat thread. I LOVE BRACEFACE!
aleusong First off, I agree with the majority here, this has little to do with braces and more to do with being a preteen. (sigh) Originality is dead but what can you do with the people running the entertainment industry these days?I haven't seen much of the show but I've been to www.tvtome.com to check out what these episodes are about. And people, I think parents especially, will be shocked and appalled at the material that Braceface covers: periods, homosexuality, and alcoholism! Yeah yeah, we can find plenty of this on classic TNBC. However this show is on Disney Channel...not smart...not a smart move at all. Braceface, compared to other preteen fluff can sometimes go a little too deep into adult issues furthering the gap between adults and children that Disney never meant to create but it did. Putting this show on the Disney channel (a channel once meant for family) will only create controversy. But then again, ABC Family calls themselves a family channel despite the amount of R rated films they show. What a messed up world this has become! As for the show itself, its a Lizzie Mcguire wannabe minus the whole brace deal. Connor doesn't seem to hang out with Sharon and Maria as we are to believe. Its focus is too much on Sharon and Olden getting together. We spend very little time getting to know her family (well except her older brother). The only episode that really surprised me was the one where Nina saved Sharon's life. And Maria Wong represents the typical best friend who's a bit too selfish. ARGH!In closing: please put this back on ABC Family and leave it there. We must save the Disney Channel!!!
SBKnaack This is a great show. While the animation is fairly basic, the themes of the show are relevant and the stories well done. This isn't high drama. It's a show aimed mainly at people in middle school, although i find many of its subjects can apply to anyone from grade school on up. I m an adult, I watch it, I like it. Many of the episodes deal with useful topics, like what to do--and not to do--when: your boyfriend dumps you, you aren't in the popular crowd, you do stupid embarrassing things at school and everyone knows about it, or your friends begin hanging out with people you don't like. It's all pretty basic and everyday, but it is well done and appears in a format that isn't "preachy." I could have benefitted from a show like this when i was 14.
