briceharlan Community is, in my opinion, the greatest television show ever! Every character is a bucket of laughter and surprise! Would definitely recommend!
ArthurDental This show can be hilarious, often, but it's got an ISIS-like attitude underneath that rears its head occasionally. One of the best (or worst) examples is the "Glee" episode where they argue for getting Jesus into public schools. Even worse was the documentary episode where Abed took over Shirley's idea and played Jesus in his own film. At the end Shirley stormed in and smashed thousands of dollars worth of equipment in the name of the lord. Some people claim they want to fight against Sharia laws but then when it's Christian laws they are gung-ho about it. Well, institutionalized, politicized religions are repressive by nature. When a TV show endorses destruction of property and violence for religious reasons, we are in dark times.
cheesewing1 Community is my all-time favorite sitcom. It involves nearly all types of humor, but mostly a very smart, quick-witted humor. The show is set in the fictional Greendale Community College in the fictional Colorado city of Greendale. 7 classmates are in a study group and learn to get along with each other, and become a family. Hi-jinks ensue in this cult-classic. The show was arguably NBC's last 'great sitcom', for now. It was a very 'meta' show, which turned some people off from it. The main characters were started off as clichés on purpose in order to make the wacky world around them more believable. They were then expanded upon in ways that were surprising, yet meta and homage inspired when appropriate. It's the kind of show that has to be seen, not explained. It has a smaller following, but a strong one. #sixseasonsandamovie
balsarraf For a while my friends have been telling me to watch this show but I never saw the appeal. However, after watching the first season, I binged the entire show in a matter of 2 weeks. What I can say is that this show offers a similar comradery that we see in shows like "Friends". Community focuses on the dynamics between the characters in the Study group, focusing on how the group initially starts out as a legitimate study group, but morphs into a group of chaotic and funny friends, whom affect one another in many ways. The show is very quirky and different, yet has a sense of familiarity to it. That is thanks to the many homages paid to very famous and loved movies such as "Lord of the Rings", "Star Wars", "The Shawshank Redemption" and many many more. All of the characters have a lot to offer with their quirkiness and differences, adding new layers of flavor and comedy to the group. Additionally, every season had an animated episode (Sort of like that sequence in the 3rd Harold and Kumar movie where it went all animated) that I thought distinguished this show from many others, it was definitely an interesting decision, and one that I believed payed off . All in all, I think if you're a fan of shows like "Friends" or "Parks and Rec" then this show is a must watch. Six Seasons and Movie!
