Reviews

SnoopyStyle Jules (Courteney Cox) is divorced from her slacker husband Bobby Cobb (Brian Van Holt) and living in a cul-de-sac in a Florida town with her son Travis (Dan Byrd). She's a real estate agent with flighty Laurie Keller (Busy Philipps). Her best friend Ellie Torres (Christa Miller) is married to Andy Torres (Ian Gomez). She falls for Grayson Ellis (Josh Hopkins) who lives across the street. Tom (Bob Clendenin) is the weird doctor who also lives in the cul-de-sac. The group drinks wine and hangs out.The cul-de-sac gang is a fun alcoholic wacky group. That's the most important part of these traditional sitcoms. It has the similar wackiness as Bill Lawrence's previous show Scrubs. The change to TBS didn't change it too much although it did indicate a slow inevitable decline. After a few seasons, the show became repetitive and safe. It is a little weird to have Travis go with Laurie. It tied down Laurie from having wild adventures and it stopped Travis' hopeless romantic search. It felt like the show closed off two avenues of possibilities to go down one road with limitations. The show eventually runs out of stories.
Mike-DD I began this show thinking there'd be lots of cougars prowling for young men, but it was actually only about one woman, the naive and exuberant Jules, well-played by Courteney Cox. And even that stopped after about half a season, when she found Grayson, not-so-well played by Josh Hopkins.I expected the show to die off slowly then, but amazingly, it's now halfway through season 5 and I'm still watching. While there is no more 'cougaring', there are other characters that keep the show interesting: her ex-husband Bobby and his couldn't-care-less mode of living, her best friend neighbour Ellie (brilliantly played by Christa Miller) and her killer sense of deadpan humor, and Ellie's husband, the indefatigable and one-man-Bobby-fanclub Andy, also brilliantly played Ian Gomez. And each episode usually contains its own self-contained plot that is generally resolved at the end of 20 minutes. For the most part, those plots are engaging enough to keep you watching, especially when Ellie deploys her unique brand of humor. And one more thing that seems insignificant yet adds interest to the show: those title cards. I'm always anticipating them with the start of each episode.
Fiona Sharman This show is great!Every character has something to love about them. I love Jules because she is so kind and hilarious and she knows what she wants. Ellie is amazing too she is so bossy but has excellent friendship skills and i love her 'secret' sweetness. Ellie and Jules have the best friendship, living next door to each other and sharing so many moments. The thing you will really love about the show is how WEIRD Jules is and the fact people just accept her! The only thing about the show is they seem to have a set 'joke' for every episode and carry it on throughout that episode and it never continues further then that. Also I wish there were more themes that followed through several episodes other then love. The Joke i have loved the best so far is Grayson having "Ferrett Eyes" because they are so tiny! I never laugh out loud and roll around in giggles but that set me off because it is sooooo true! Now I see a ferret every time I look at him! I have finished season 1 in a couple of days and I'm dying to see the rest! I'm in love! Also another great part was the M&M cup of tea! YUM haha Like I said this is a great show and every character brings something new and wonderful to the show and I adore them all!
jennyla-598-568234 This show is quite enjoyable and fun to watch. Its definitely not boring but having goofy moments and some creative dialogues are the interesting part of this show. You cant expect for a 21 minutes television series to be something matured and common all time. After friends, its nice to watch a group of people having some good time in their own ways. Jules is someone who is caring and lovable towards her friends and vice versa. She is a wonderful mother but couldn't save her marriage life. She did find someone she loves and married again, they are fun couple. Having a trustworthy friends around to have a casual conversation with wine is pleasant. Keep rocking
