Reviews

vivifan Cowboy Bebop is one of the most famous anime's out there and It's in my top 5 favorite's easily. It's Got action, comedy, drama, and an epic soundtrack. The animation is very good, the characters are amazing (my favorite's being spike and jet). The storyline is very entertaining also. This anime also has one of the best English Dub's I have ever seen. The Japanese version is good but the best way to watch this one imo is the dub. The voice acting fits the characters perfectly as well as it having no cuts. If you have never seen an anime before I would recommend this one as a starting point. Highly recommend!
guillermitojoel First of all, pardon my english (its not my native tongue) but I needed to write a review about cowboy bebop. Im a long time anime watcher and also movie and tv series lover, but I have to admit anime is my weakness, so I admit that in some series my personal taste dont let me objectively review anime. But thats not the case with cowboy bebop, its one of the few animes, I truly consider masterpieces, its not my favorite anime, but its definetly the best. Its a masterpiece because its beauty and the emotions it transmit trascend personal taste and should be apreciated universally, even few movies have achive these in my opinion, for me Bebop its up there with the classic, with the big classics, with the godfather, the shinning, Shawshank, yes thats how good is this serie for me. I have to accept at first, until around half of the show I thought it was really entertaning but no much more than that, its probably due to the fact that each episode is like a mini story and only few are connected and actually advance the main plot, same reason some people say its argument is weak, but when you get a a grip, when you realize the real objective and meaning of the show you can truly appreciate has the perfection it is. All those apparently insignificant mini stories, all of them are important, beautiful and aport to the whole story, some of them to get to know the insights of the characters, others to understand better the context and how those the world works in that setting, its just perfect, they all add up, and in certain manner build up all the emotions the serie transmits later. Sountrack- Its not the most epic sountrack, thats code geass, its not the most sad/dark sountrack, thats evangelion, but I have never seen any show, anime or not, with a sountrack that adjust and go so according with the plot, characters, animation style it just fits perfectly. The jazzy, western vibe of the show its due in grand part to ist soundtrack. But thats not it the intro song and scenes, are without a doubt the best opening I've ever seen. Animation- Actually there are much more detail, realistic and advance animation, a perfect example of that is One punch man, but the animation of cowboy bebop its the perfect style of animation for cowboy bebop, again it fits perfectly to the show. Sci-fi objects, figth scenes, characters are all so well animated. Characters- In some animes you get to grow with the characters while they keep developing their personalities and objectives, so you get attached to them even if its not your type of character, but in cowboy bebop they show you characters that practically dont develop or change much during the serie, but thats not a problem beacuse they are all well develop and thought and you can empatize with them in one way or another. The crew of the bebop is amazing I love everyone of them, being my favorite Spike for his cool actitude and disattachedment from life, but I Edward is just as interesting and perhaps less mainstream type of character. There are some memorable antagonist worth to mention, but really the one that matters and matters almost as much to the story as Spike is Vicious, its with the only thing or person Spike gets serious about. Plot- the writing is amazing to say the least, for starters the mini stories unconnected with the main plot are all without exception entertaining and transmit something, and the main plot (Spike/Vicious) is one of the best I've ever seen, the flashbacks, the obsession of the two with the other, their past and their clearly predestinated future is so emotional and intense ir hurts. Finale- Im trying as much as posible to say the least that I can about the plot not to give mayor spoilers, but I have to say the ending of a show is one of the, if not the most important thing for me, it can made a show a masterpiece or a mediocre serie, and my god the finale of cowboy bebop has to be in my top 3 finales of all time. Conclusion- Please watch it, not for me for you, belive me you dont wanna miss Cowboy Bebop.
tomchaud I love itttt this anime has a special place in my heart i nevere skipped the intro, old school graphics, badass characters, nice soundtrack, and i love samurai champloo too this two animees are such a classics, with nice soundtracks
Michael Marshall Cowboy Bebop is a show that is a 26 episode long show that somehow manages to be 50% filler. If you're looking for a good story, this isn't the show for you. The ending was OK but just didn't have the emotional impact that the creator probably intended it to. The characters overall show zero development and some of the characters could even be considered as extras.
