hauntingly beautiful dark fantasy doesn't exactly imitate the original plot, which makes the guessing game more exciting - you keep guessing who is who in relation to the well known story. Stunning set design and costumes. Great acting. Deep exploration of human nature. The innocent choices characters make - all justified, we feel for everybody - leading to tragic consequences. Have to admit that intro part was dragging a bit, but each next episode was better than the one before. I was glued to the screen and finished it in one night... well... two nights - i discovered the show after episode 9 was released, so had to wait for the last one.

Dorothy (Adria Aroja) and Vincent Di'Onofrio as the Wizard are terribly miscast. So badly miscast they ruin a potentially good series. Dorothy isn't remotely likable, frankly is she died or were killed by the bad witch I'd understand or maybe even encourage. Di'Onofrio is so wooden and without gravitas or nuance as an actor in this role that you'd think he was the lead in a small-town rendition of Wizard of Oz rather than a major actor. That's too bad, because the set and some of the supporting cast is pretty good.

I've to be honest, I almost didn't finish the first episode - but the pace picked up so fast so I just kept watching - and I'm so glad that I did!Don't expect it to be the same as the original, but that's what I liked about it. I really hope they renew for season 2!

Dorthy should've just ran off with the dog to live alone. The kids in this are even shady. The love/hate crap gets old really quickly. You just want to wish you could go there and nuke both Kingdoms. The scenery was the only thing that shined in this show. NBC should give shows like this to sister stations SyFy's or USA's Expanse or Colony teams. BTW Tip NERVER looked like a boy no matter how hard you tried.
