MovieAddict2016 I used to watch "Fear Factor" every week when it first started airing because it was a unique reality show (a genre I hate to begin with) and kind of interesting. It seemed daring and I enjoyed watching the contestants go through all the crazy challenges, it was sort of fun in a guilty pleasure way.But enough is enough. Joe is really milking his whole hosting experience for what it's worth -- appearing, ironically, on "Got Milk?" ads. Ten years from now he'll be sitting in a dumpster wearing a "I Was A Reality TV Show Host" T-shirt.The show has simply become a bore - the novelty has worn thin. They keep trying to introduce "new" challenges but after you've seen a few, you've seen 'em all. Once in a while they get really sexy babes to strip to their underwear for underwater challenges, which is just plain sad, shameless exploitation for the sake of gaining a wider audience and attracting viewers. Then they'll have the special "Fear Factor: Victoria's Secret Episode" where they have supermodels playing the challenges. Joe always looks like he's really enjoying himself during these episodes."Fear Factor" used to be fun but nowadays I've found it's just pretty lame. It's not interesting anymore, it's not amusing, and it's simply not as unique as it was four years ago.
mm-39 I can not watch a whole show. Fear factor is comparable to the old circus tent with people eating glass or swallowing swords. I can watch for 10 minutes then I say let's go to the roller-coaster. After years of watching big time movie stunts, fear factor is pretty tame. The show also tryies to sell sex with the deal, but like with stunts the public is over exposed with Virtora Secrits fashion shows and other low budget programing one is harding and the shock/sex factor is nil. The shows producers must save money on sets writers, and directors with Fear Factor. Little depth with the show, makes one wonder about the dumbing down of society. Where is the depth with people. Between the PCers and the Shock type shows there leave little room for any real art anymore. I notice a lot of the people on reality TV seem to be big ego attention starved individuals. I say do something better with one's time.
yardie262001 I love the show. My friends hate it but sometimes i get them to watch except when the eating stunts come on. If you didn't have to eat nasty stuff i would to be a contestant. I mainly like the jumping out of stuff but i can't swim. I also like crashing cars, but i can't drive. that doesn't matter but for $50,000 i would try anything once. Also i love the host, he is a gas. He tells it like it is and he is a great motivator for getting you to eat anything. He also needs to show a few competitors how to do the stunts, that would be great. I read all the other comments and all I have to say is, "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T WATCH IT."KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!
unleaded-1 Fear Factor is like a car wreck - everyone wants to watch it, but hope they never have to be in it. My 'beef' is with the episode that had 3 women and 3 men bobbing for rings in the tank of cow's blood. Was it entirely necessary to show the women showering with the blood running down their breasts, thighs, legs and feet? Compared to the men's showers, it was like two different episodes. Is that totally necessary? When the male contestants showered, one never sees the midsection or blood washing down through their pelvic region. Are the producers afraid that showing men with blood in the shower would indicate that they were menstruating? Puh-leez! This wasn't the first show (and probably not the last) to portray the female body in a negative image, and the unequality in filming the genders is offensive. This episode left me wondering if the portrayal of women in America will ever be on an even par with the macho image that the baggy-shorted males. Remember, half of the population (and the contestants) are female, so show the same angle for both, or don't bother to show it at all.
