Liz Airhart Seriously. I cannot even come CLOSE to describing this with actual words. How about words from the show like "poop-tastic"?This is a sorry excuse for a teenage sitcom. I imagined this would be a nice show for myself and younger brother to watch to take time off our hands after being done with chores, but boy was I wrong. My brother fell in love with this horrible...horrible excuse for a show. The laugh track that goes off every 2 seconds? Gee. Like I haven't seen a show use THAT a million times before. The acting? Miranda Cosgrove is a beautiful young lady with...somewhat decent singing talent. But her acting...her acting makes a homeless man on cocaine look like a STAR. Who came up with the character Sam? No girl THAT tiny can take down nearly any adult with ease. She should STAY in a juvenile detention center so this sorry excuse of a web show she and Carly produce can NEVER go on and cause more brain damage for those who watch it.There's not much more to say other than Nickelodeon has gone downhill FAST recently.
sachin030796 Once upon a time, there were two really annoying girls from Seattle who recorded some stupid video and randomly became famous. So the first girl, Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) decides to go to her artistic brother Spencer (Jerry Trainor) to use a spare room in an enormous apartment as a studio - because retarded artists earn that much money to have a three-story flat without parental supervision - and her geeky neighbour Freddie (Nathan Kress) to record a show for her and her best friend, Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy). There are several problems in this show. Firstly the number of sexual references throughout the show is ridiculous. The producer needs to be aware of the audience they are filming for. Even though most children will not acknowledge the references, some might. Secondly, the show seems to encourage a hierarchy of power with the characters. As there is no parental supervision, the children (and Spencer, who practically is a child) seem to believe they can do what they want. One character in particular, Sam Puckett, is often violent and rude, especially to Freddie. This seems to encourage bullying in children who are watching the show. Thirdly, there is too much repetition on the topics of the characters - Sam is always hungry, Spencer sets everything on fire, Carly is always self-obsessed, and Freddie is always in love with one of the girls. The laughter prompt is used too often, or when there are jokes that aren't funny. The characters seem to make more noise than expected. The series introduces new characters throughout the show - one in particular is called Gibby. For some reason, Dan Schneider believes it is acceptable for this character (who is relatively fat) to take his shirt off multiple times for no reason. Let us not forget that not only is it highly inappropriate, but they live in Seattle, where it is not a suitable temperature to take a shirt off.The show also has some good aspects. For example, the over-the-top drama and acting is hilarious - probably funnier than the show itself - and the idea of the show is interesting. It is a bit disappointing however, that the co-host of the show Sam does not have her name included in the name iCarly. The use of character throughout the show is good as well - Freddie only gets geekier throughout the show despite the mocking from other characters. Jerry Trainor is the best actor because of his character. A guardian who is too irresponsible to look after a teenager, an aspiring artist with practically unlimited funding with the tendency to make mistakes, and a real role model for Carly to chase her dreams. There is evidence to suggest that he was intelligent enough to become a lawyer, but he was more interested in art. He gives the moral to the audience that you should take care of family/friends, perseverance etc.Overall, the show probably should not have been aired for 6 seasons and 1 movie. There were two many problems that are easily removed. Unfortunately the bad acting is only because of inexperienced actors & directors, and that is not at the fault of the show.
Travis Smith (Sigh) OK let's get this over with. Icrappy is a show about a three teenagers in high school, gee haven't seen that on TV yet, I don't think kid shows these days are repetitive enough. Anyway the thing that makes this show SO DIFFERENT is that these teens have a web show that "millions" of idiots tune into see every day or week or whatever. The acting is abysmal but what did you expect from nickelodeon. Lets look at the stupid characters. OK the main character is a stupid generic popular good looking teen girl named Carly that "everyone wants to kiss"....... Yeah right, she's too bland to speak about so I will just move on. Her big brother spencer is the biggest idiot in kids shows history. He has no idea how to look after Carly and he is a artist but he has no artistic sense at all and for some reason everyone wants to buy his trash...... Bull. Then Sam who is my least favourite character, she is a complete bully who loves making fun of kids and hurting them and guess what! She is the main characters best friend, ain't that just great!? Sam is rewarded for being horrible to everyone and its annoying as hell. My favourite is Freddie because he is a geek like me BUT the people who made this show think that being a nerd is bad and anyone who is one should be bullied. Parents don't let your kids watch this, It will make them dumber. Raise them on stuff like lion king or heck even spongebob. Something with good morals.
Jenn Aldaine Another hit from Dan Schneider. The show is full of quirky random behavior which I find pretty funny. The acting is okay, but not great. Sam Puckett's lazy and juvenile personality is hilarious and entertaining. Carly Shay is kinda meh, but still pretty like-able. Personally, I think Miranda is a pretty decent actress, but I feel she shines best when playing an "evil" character, like Megan from Drake and Josh. Spencer Shay's falling and fire gags were entertaining at first, but became sort of tired as the show went on. Overall, the show is pretty good. Maybe some touch ups on the acting here and there, but should provide entertainment for the whole family.
