In San Francisco,an elderly cabinet maker has saved $62,000 and does not want his wife to inherit it when he dies.A lawyer explains how the man can leave it to his intended-an orphaned niece.The man fears his wife is trying to kill him and wants to provide for his niece and her love,an abused deaf and dumb cousin.The man is right-he is murdered.The cousin is blamed and later saves the niece from the murderous wife.

EP2 Operation Grief Oct 08, 1964

France 1944 and in a secret camp men prepare for a daring mission. The unusual thing is that they are German soldiers who will masquerade as U.S. troops in order to cause confusion and buy time for a last gasp German Offensive. Later,five U.S. G.I.'s travel toward the front lines and begin to suspect each other of being a German infiltrator.

In tiny Cedar Bay a tightly wound,much decorated Korean War veteran has plans to establish a para-military organization called the U.S. Vigilance Committee. Local teenagers show the man no respect and later decide to play a Halloween "prank" on him.The prank causes the re-awakening of a bad experience the man suffered during the war-and may lead to death.

In small-town Hainesville, California a kindly jewelry store owner feels guilty after killing a young Mexican man during a hold-up attempt at his store. The boy's sister is angry and wants revenge. She takes advantage of the jeweler's compassion and loneliness and gets close to him-a little too close for both of them. Later, she finds the man who truly was to blame for her brother's death.

EP5 The Kamchatka Incident Nov 12, 1964

A military air transport plane on a 15 hour flight from Tokyo to Seattle, Washington has engine and compass problems during a hurricane and wanders into Soviet air space. An emergency landing on uninhabited Russian soil with rough terrain is complicated further by the fact that one of the plane's passengers is an important Soviet defector.

EP6 The Jack is High Nov 19, 1964

Just outside of Reno, Nevada, five men with diversely different backgrounds ambush an armored car truck and make away with $3,000,000 in cash. The men make their getaway to Los Angeles using a gas tanker truck in which the money and three of the men are hidden inside. The trip is full of uncertainty as they fight amongst themselves while, unknown to them, a veteran police inspector is cleverly piecing clues together.

Gestapo agents pick up resistance leader Bertine, but fail to to recognize the value of their catch. Because Bertine must be silenced before the Nazis realize who he is, his followers arrange for a young assassin to be arrested and place in his cell.

The Communist authorities want the money and the woman enlists a reporter to help her find it and clear her husband. Meanwhile, anti-Castro patriots lurk in the background.

He then sets about making sure his brother's family has everything they need prior to his demise.

Synopsis

Kraft Suspense Theatre is an American anthology series that was telecast from 1963 to 1965 on NBC. Sponsored by Kraft Foods, it was seen three weeks out of every four and was pre-empted for Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall specials once monthly. Como's production company, Roncom Films, also produced Kraft Suspense Theatre. Writer, editor, critic and radio playwright Anthony Boucher served as consultant on the series. Later syndicated under the title Crisis, it was one of the few suspense series telecast in color at the time. While most of NBC's shows were in color then, all-color network line-ups did not become the norm until the 1966-67 season.

GUENOT PHILIPPE I remember this TV show being released in France during the late sixties and far more recently on minor channels. Yes, this TV series was very unusual, as were CHEVY THEATRE or BOB HOPE PRESENTS...Dramas, thrillers, crime...Very surprising plots, although not every one may be worth for my own taste. For this series, for instance, some episodes bored me to death; some looked like a PEYTON PLACE intrigue with expected results. And if there is something I hate more than anything else in this kind of stuff is f...expected results, expected endings. In big screen movies, OK, I agree, but certainly not for small stories like these ones I am talking about now. I crave for sad, ironic, ambiguous or "open" ends and not happy endings. I don't think suspense was the master link of this TV show.

misctidsandbits This is a terrific program. It's on a rerun channel in my area (ME TV), and what a treat. It is truly excellent on every level. Perhaps its competition on other channels at the time caused it not to run as long as it otherwise might have. The actors and acting are top level. The plots are ingenuous and well executed. The sets and settings are high quality. You have variety with each program. It manages all this without offending the sensibilities - showing it can be done. For any mystery/somewhat thriller aficionado, I would think this one would rate high. If DVDs of this are available, they would well be worth pursuing. You have the variety and reliability. Excellent offering.

rcj5365 KRAFT SUSPENSE THEATRE was one of the great television anthology series that came out of the early 1960's. For the two seasons that it ran on NBC-TV,this was one of the few suspense programs that was produced in color,which the Peacock network's majority of shows were at the time. This was produced by the great Roy Huggins(whose name is uncredited here)who was behind some of the greatest shows ever produced for television("Cheyenne","Maverick", "77 Sunset Strip", "The Fugitive", "Run For Your Life", and "The Rockford Files") in arrangement with Roncom Films and Universal Studios. A total of 59 episodes were produced for NBC-TV from its premiere on October 10,1963 until July 1,1965. The theme music composed for this series was done by one of the greatest of all Hollywood composers to do scores for film and television......the maestro himself, John Williams. And with other anthology series that were around during the 1960's,almost every program featured a self-contained episode with its own cast. Roy Huggins,also brought a wealth of talent to this series,including casting some of the stars from his Warner Brothers shows to be in some of the episodes for Kraft Suspense Theatre. Stars like Jack Kelly("Maverick"),Ebb Byrnes("77 Sunset Strip"), Ty Hardin("Bronco"), Clint Walker("Cheyenne"),Roger Smith("77 Sunset Strip"), Troy Donahue ("Surfside Six"),and Robert Conrad("Hawaiian Eye"). Several episodes from this series were brilliant including the premiere episode(which was a two-parter)titled "The Case Against Paul Ryker". The episode starred Lee Marvin as Paul Ryker,a soldier who is being court martialed for treason during the Korean War. Vera Miles played his wife,Bradford Dillman was his JAG defense lawyer who had an intense flirtation with Ryker's wife. Peter Graves was the prosecuting attorney. Marvin's performance in the role is astounding here. ballystyk I barely remember the show itself except as more serious competition with the first season of "Thriller" which at the time was more detective, pulp, noir kind of material. I distinctly remember the opening credit sequence with the abstract images floating eerily about a stylized shadow of a pursued man with one of the best themes written for television. John (Johnny) Williams rules.
