Good idea about the pilot story: Kyle, a regular 16 year old-looking chap, is new to the world, learns everything very naively yet brilliantly and finds the best family one could ever be part of, but WAIT! that's the cute start. As the season goes on, it gets more complicated, mixing bad screenplay, useless supporting cast, science experiments and goofy love-hate relationships between two teen couples. It feels that the term "I want to PROTECT you" or "you'll have to TRUST me" are being told thousands of times (sounds like a Smallville script). There is something wrong with Matt Dallas'old voice for a 16 year old and poor facial expression, Kirsten Prout's terrible acting and ridiculous lines (seriously, WHO would date a nun like Amanda?? a priest??!) And since the show was suddenly cancelled after receiving low ratings, I feel bad for the rest of the cast as they all looked genuine and talented.

Nicole (Marguerite MacIntyre) and Stephen Trager (Bruce Thomas) have two kids Lori (April Matson) and Josh (Jean-Luc Bilodeau). The Seattle family takes in amnesiac teen Kyle (Matt Dallas). He seems to be mute and unaware of the most basic things. Also he doesn't have a belly button. He is taken with next door neighbor Amanda Bloom (Kirsten Prout). Declan McDonough is the mysterious stranger. Later, the gang is joined by Jessi (Jaimie Alexander) who is closely related to Kyle. This is very intriguing teen high school drama with a serious sci-fi angle. The idea that the guy has to learn the most basic of human interaction while being a supercomputer leads to all kinds of great possibilities. The cast is full of likable young actors. Then the second season introduced the very stunning Jaimie Alexander. Sadly it lasted only 3 seasons, but once it got stuck on the sci-fi merry-go-around, the series loses a bit of steam.

There is so much to say about this show, but here we go. All the actors are very well chosen, and play their parts very nicely, Kyle on his desperate hunt to uncover his true identity, Jesse doing what show-offs to best, Lori, and her heart-breaking love life, Josh just being weird with his crazy alien theory, that I admit, was pretty funny when he thought Kyle was an alien, and Amanda, the girl that just wants proof that Kyle loves her. All the characters boil down to this: an excellent show. It attracted my attention the moment I watched the first episode. It is a show that deserves a lot of people's attention. It has drama, like when Lori and Declan break up; action, when Jesse and Kyle decide to rescue Amanda; romance, a lot of this, ranging from just talk about ..., and actually seeing two people kissing, the girl on top of the guy; comedy, a little of the show is really funny to watch, like when this person comes over due to a complaint about Kyle; and mystery, the whole show has the question, "Who is Kyle", and just when you think you know the answer, it starts you on a new question, "how can Kyle be related to the enemy?", and just leaves you there wondering that question for maybe the rest of your life, thanks to ABC Family for cancelling it. This show has something everyone would like.

I enjoyed this series a lot. I kind of forgot about it once Secret Life came on. I never watched Secret Life, I thought that show was stupid. I never got to finish the seasons because I got busy with other stuff. Anyways, I loved this series. I found it on YouTube later and wondered why it was canceled. There was such chemistry between Kyle and Jessi. I liked Kylanda at first. I thought they had great chemistry, they way she still talked to him even though at first he came into her house and had an announced friend show up at the pool. Wink wink. then I realized that Kylassi were really meant to be. I liked the plot, it was great, at times, I do wish there was more sci-fi and less drama. Secret life should've never taken over, I guess people are dumb enough to go for that teen pregnancy drama. They have 5.1/10 rating on here while Kyle XY has a 7.4/10 rating.
