Marlon has undeniable charisma. However it is over the top here and does not serve the show. Additionally, the show's writing and characters are boring and at times preachy. It's as if someone decided to pick a social topic, insert a popular, but false bias, (for instance too many white people in a room equals automatic racism) and then built a episode around that.

Yeah he pans for the camera. Yeah he over acts. Yeah he's working hard and it works for me, I can always count on several laugh out loud annoying my wife moments and I love this show! You really need to ignore the naysayers and decide for yourself because if you liked John Ritters "in your face" kind of comedy you might just like this.

My 12-year old daughter and I watched the Pilot episode as well as a subsequent one last night. We both thought it was very funny and entertaining. We could have done without the few sexual innuendos, but overall it was very funny and not too silly (for a Wayans comedy). I didn't know if it was going to be a goofy boyish-slapstick comedy, but it turned out to be very enjoyable for us girls. Marlon was silly as usual, but Essence made the show a little more serious which was a good thing. The daughter was cute and funny. Marlon's roommate/boarder was also very funny and likable. We can't wait for future episodes.

Although I'd love to have a reason for it, since it's so healthy to do, I rarely laugh out loud at TV shows or movies. Marlon was the exception. I laughed a lot through both of the first two episodes. The interaction among the characters was perfect. The story lines were terrific. I believe this to be the funniest show on TV right now. Can't wait for more. It is really hilarious. Well done!
