bpashain-07133 Sister Wives is my guilty pleasure so I decided to give this show a try. Why anyone would live a polygamous life is beyond me. It's basically like having a High School relationship for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. It's nothing but jealousy, crying and score-keeping. When Brady does something for one wife, at least 2 others are devastated and cry. Actually, I don't think there was an episode where at least one wife DIDN'T cry. They spend the entire episode talking about how close they are and how they love each other, but they are never happy for one another. The wives are never able to enjoy birthdays or anniversaries because they have 4 "sister wives" at home seething with rage and jealousy over their "private time" with their shared husband. One wife wants to look into adoption (even with 25 who can't possible be getting the attention they need and deserve), so another wife cries that she wants another baby too. Brady gives one wife an anniversary present, another wife was practically inconsolable that she didn't get the same gift when it was her anniversary several years before. They all get set amounts of time for each event. One night away for a birthday, 7 days away for a 10-year anniversary, etc. They all want their special time, yet they pout and cry when the other wives get their time away. Want to see everything get real awkward, real quick?? Watch Brady give one of them a hug or a peck kiss. The other wives look to be plotting murder. I hope the point in these shows isn't to try to make polygamy look appealing. It looks miserable, childish and lonely. The ones who seem to suffer the most are the kids. They can't possibly get the amount of attention they each need. I have yet to see a kid on these polygamy shows that want to be polygamous. They all move out and away ASAP as soon as they are old enough.
africandreaming I loved this show and all the family members. I agree 100% with the other reviewer that this show is way better than Sister Wives. It it so much better, I don't watch the other one. I used to watch them both, but since this one was stopped, I stopped watching the other. I think that this show involved more of the wives and the husband did not take an overall "boss" attitude. Looking at what the future brought the other show, I bet TLC are kicking them. Miss this show, but at least they post video's on you tube and they keep those that loved the show up to date with their lives. I hope they come back!
race_girl_3 This family is much easier to watch than the Brown's, and to me more entertaining. The Brown's just have too much drama where as the Williams seem to have more family values and get along better. Brady talks to his wives, whereas Kody from Sister Wives talks at his. Also Brady's kids seem to have more respect for him. I don't believe this show 'glorifies' polygamy, but more just shines a light on it for those who may be curious about it and hopefully help people understand that people all make different lifestyle choices.I would recommend this show to anyone who who has any questions about polygamy, just keep in mind no one polygamy family is the same.
