The second season though is a complete trainwreck. The mega plastic surgeried up actors were basically refugees from bad soap operas in the first place, and were able to do little with the stock characters-the billionaire genius, the young brilliant sidekick with always tossled hair, the supposedly talented female writer that somehow ends up content to be a secretary, and more. But the plot in the second season, between over the top crazyness, holes you could drive an asteroid through, drags along like a one legged camel through the sand, is, well, almost comical enough to be unintentionally kitch, but not quite.

I can't see what I'm typing since there is an annoying link to a movie over it, so forgive me if there are typos. I like the combination of politics and sci-fi, I like the characters. Is it the most original idea ever? No. If you want that, don't watch network TV. Are the tech scenes 100% realistic? No. But most of the audience will never know that, and those like me who do can overlook that for the overall entertainment factor. I think Season 2 has done a good job of making the characters a little more complex, and it entertains enough for a summer show on at 9 pm. It's a welcome break from summer's usual reality TV and competition shows. Bring it back for Season 3!

This is a drama disguised as a Sci Fi Series.
And I will watch almost any crap Sci Fi.
They loosely through all kind of Scientific solutions around.
Solar Sails, EM Drive etc.. etc.. It's not a very good drama
and it sucks as Sci Fi . I liked the Dome better at least it had
mystery to it and was a pretty good drama.

What could have been a thoroughly engrossing thriller, filled with murky politics, intrigue, and a looming planetary threat, is largely ruined by atrocious dialogue, abysmal performances, cheesy casting, uninspired directing, and, as usual in these shows, bad science.Yet again, the creatives behind the show assume that their audience are shallow uneducated morons without even the most basic understanding of (or interest in) science, whose attention span is less than 30 seconds, and who are driven by a mindless desire to see pretty people looking pretty, rather than realistic-looking people being smart, wise, altruistic, and responsible. So we are treated to pretty scientists (who look a lot like LA actors) using long words (to show us they're intelligent), pretty government types (who look a lot like LA actors) looking grumpy (to show us they're sinister), and John Noble (who looks a lot like a cadaver), speaking in an utterly unidentifiable accent (to show us he's a villain).Add to this mix the irritating, vapid presence of the "girlfriend", played by an actress so talentless that every single negative emotion is expressed with a SMILE (seriously!) and the annoying, tenacious female journalist (lifted wholesale from "Deep Impact" - like most of the rest of the story), and you have a recipe for an entirely unoriginal and spectacularly disappointing show.
