Synopsis

Deep down in the Pacific Ocean in the subterranean city of Bikini Bottom lives a square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants. SpongeBob lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, loves his job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab, and has a knack for getting into all kinds of trouble without really trying. When he's not getting on the nerves of his cranky next door neighbor Squidward, SpongeBob can usually be found smack in the middle of all sorts of strange situations with his best buddy, the simple yet lovable starfish, Patrick, or his thrill-seeking surfer-girl squirrel pal, Sandy Cheeks.

Reviews

bryceconner-45313 SpongeBob is a classic american cartoon that will go down in history.
alexk-67067 I like this show. No, I love this show. I have mostly watched seasons 1-3, and not much else, so my review will not be the most accurate. Stephen Hillenburg is a mastermind, and does this show well. When he left between seasons 4-9, it wasn't the same. I haven't seen much of these seasons, besides A Pal for Gary, One Coarse Meal, The Splinter, and all the other bad episodes. But I have looked at the reviews for individual episodes, and season 10 and 11 have gone back up to have ratings of 9 or more for an average, like seasons 1-3. Seasons 4-9 wouldn't even get past 7.5 for an average episode. It shows how when Stephen Hillenburg came back to the show halfway through season 9, it has come close to its former glory, and even has a season 11 episode with the third highest rating for a Spongebob episode.
Bryan Bjerke After that, the show went off a cliff because Hillenburg left. Seasons 4+ have Spongebob and Patrick Star being completely dumb as well as somehow becoming violent. The characters looks/animation style also changed drastically. Maybe it's just my nostalgia kicking in, but I really hate the way they look now. It's got an overly childish look to them.Season 1 is easily the best though. The animation style made this great. For some reason, it just adds so much humor to it because it's not over the top. The episodes with Patrick Star seem to be the ones I gravitate towards the most. He adds so much comedy to the episodes, which is why at age 25 I still watch them. Bubblestand, Opposite Day, Jellyfishing, Texas, and Hooky being my favorite episodes from that season.Season 2 is the second best season. This one has a slightly different animation style, but it still stays true to the looks of the characters from season 1. You get a lot more variety in this season, but as an older adult I still tend to gravitate towards the episodes with Patrick. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III, Wormy, Survival of the Idiots, Band Geeks, The Secret Box, and Sailor Mouth are my personal favorites.Season 3 was decent. Plenty of classic episodes in this one. For some reason I found Spongebob to be slightly annoying in this season. Not sure if they were trying too hard or what. Club Spongebob, Mermaid Man And Barnacle Boy IV, Chocolate with Nuts, and Wet Painters were my favorites.Overall, when re-watching these as an adult, the Episodes with Patrick and/or Squidward in them tend to be the best. The ones that focus on Spongebob (without the aid of Squidward and Patrick) or Plankton tend to be hard to watch when you get older. Also, don't bother watching any season after 3.
Carterhj1114 Spongebob Is A Great Cartoon About A Sea Sponge. I Record New Episodes Of The Show And When They Come On, I Watch The New Episode. It's Good! Even If A Pal For Gary And One Coarse Meal Are Bad Episodes, It's Still Good. I Like It And Everyone Will Enjoy The Show, Even If Some People Hate It.
