RealChristian14 When Christian Broadcasting Network initially released Superbook,they intended it to preach the Gospel to the people of Japan.Little did they know that it will become a phenomenal success that it became popular in many countries for many years.In fact,re- runs of its episodes is still shown on TV.Then,it created a remake of the Christian animation series and came up with the new Superbook that is characterized by Computer Graphic Imagery or CGI effects.It was nice to see the characters - Chris,Joy and Gizmo - start off the show and go back in time inside Superbook and go learn valuable lessons from the Biblical events that they become witnesses and part of.It was also nice to see them meet major characters from the Bible such as Adam and Eve,Moses,Job,Gideon,Abraham,Isaac,Jacob and Esau,Joseph,David,Joseph,Jesus and many others.Comparing this new Superbook series,also known as Superbook Reimagined, to the old Superbook series,also now called as Superbook Classic,I would say that the original remains better in more ways than one in terms of having more lovable characters and better writing despite having less advanced animation considering it is more than thirty years older.But this new series still have the capacity to entertain young viewers and it will allow them to learn many valuable lessons about God,life and the Bible.

Marian20 After more than 30 years of success,the Christian Broadcasting Network decided to remake their classic Christian animation series Superbook. It was called the reimagined series with the use of advanced animation technologies such as 3D and CGI effects.It will present stories from both Old and New Testament.The characters involved are Christopher Quantum,who is also is called Chris together with Joy Pepper and the robot Gizmo,which was invented by Chris's father,Professor Crispin Quantum.Another character involved is the Professor's wife and Chris' mother,Phoebe.The episodes normally starts with life experiences in the present which becomes the foundation of what valuable lessons which the trio - Chris,Joy and Gizmo - learns more about once Superbook transports them back during the Biblical age. An example is when Chris at first was lacking confidence in performing on stage with many people during an audition for the school band's lead guitarist.But later,Superbook transports the trio back in time to meet David,who at his young age managed to do what other Israelites weren't able to do which is battle and kill Goliath,a giant soldier of the Philistine army.Later,we get to see Chris learn from David about facing one's challenges and gaining courage and confidence.No question that the animation is definitely a lot better and impressive compared to the original.As for the stories,I think that they do highlight the lessons learned by the trio from the Biblical characters they meet.Finally,it will definitely make a better impact for young viewers in terms of entertainment and Christian values.

Desertman84 In 1981,the Christian Broadcasting Network or CBN worked together with Tatsunoko Productions,an animation company to preach the Good News to Japan.The Japanese company came up with Superbook.Little would CBN and Tatsunoko know that the Christian animation series would reach unprecedented success as it became a hit in numerous countries.It has become a hit not only during its time of release but for many years to come.When the Soviet Union was released from communism,it also became hit in many former Soviet countries as well such as Russia.Currently,the reruns of the episode of the classic Superbook is still shown on air in many countries after more than thirty years.In fact in the U.S.,TV networks like Smile Of A Child TV still have it on its daily TV schedule programming.Then,CBN decided to make a remake of this old animation series.It was shown back in 2009.It has made more than thirty new episodes.The new series also called Superbook features the new characters having the same first names such as Christopher Quantum,Joy Pepper and the sleek robot who is alive both at present and during Biblical times,Gizmo.The new parents happens to be named Professor Crispin Quantum,a brilliant scientist who invented Gizmo,and Phoebe Quantum,who apparently is always available to Chris all the time.There is no pet dog so there will be no Ruffles.Joy now has a family name unlike in the classic series and remains a constant visitor on Chris' home.As for Superbook,it won't be discovered in the attic nor will it always stay in Chris' room nor be linked in a computer but it will be a small flying saucer that will take Chris,Joy and Gizmo back in time at any moment it wants to.The Biblical stories that is contains are essentially the same.It has Creation,Adam and Eve,Moses,Job,Gideon,Abraham,Isaac,Jacob and Esau,Joseph,David,Joseph,Jesus and many others.Added to that,it also has events that were not featured in the classic series such as events from Book of Revelations where the final battle between the angels and devils occur together the Tower Of Babel and Pentecost.As for Chris,Joy and Gizmo,they will definitely have less participation as Biblical events occur to keep the stories intact unlike in the first season of the classic series.Finally,Satan will become a major presence in many of the episodes.The animation of this series will be a lot better.No question about it considering the advances in technology.Also,the Computer Graphic Imagery or CGI effects will also play a major role as many Biblical events will be a lot flashier.These graphical effects will definitely astound many viewers.In fact,it will even play a central role to a fault that the events will probably be left in the background.That could somehow include the lessons learned.Sad but true.As a whole,I felt that this flashier new Superbook may have updated in terms of technological animation but it is definitely lacking in terms of heart and substance that made the original series become an unprecedented success.Humor is also lacking in it.Also,the new Chris,Joy and Gizmo won't be loved as much as the old ones.Overall,this flashier new series would not compare to the classic series.
