For some reason all my classmates have turned this into a meme and its really annoying. I thought I was going to get answers when I looked it up, but it turns out that this is some sitcom from the 90s??? I'm confused.

OK, so I never watched this as a kid growing up. I was into manga, nickelodeon, Disney etc. However, now I am 25 i decided to go through all the TV shows I missed whilst growing up and this was one of them. Boy oh boy, I was not disappointed. Despite the last show being run over 20 years ago, this comedy is well worth the watch. Will Smith is obviously the star, but the performances by every single person in the Banks family was memorable. Some episodes were there just for the laughs, some were slower and some had serious learning reflections. The latter is what made this show stand out. Going from an episode that made me laugh to one with a serious message of gun control or racism sets this show apart from the majority of sitcoms. It was, well, a fresh experience. One of the few gripes I had was that some of the jokes were repeated many, many times. It did start to grate on me when Will would say "You know what I'm sayyyyyiiinnnngggg?" in that characteristic tone. The other thing that slightly annoyed me was the re-casting of Vivian. I understand why it happened, but I just do not think the replacement was anywhere near as good.Other than these minor points, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this show from S01E01 to S06E24. If you have not watched this show before, you should. If you have seen this show before, you probably should watch it again.

I remember watching this show when I was a kid and it's fun to see that it still remains as funny today in re-runs as it was then. Before he was a big movie star Will Smith was great in this sitcom playing a character that although wasn't a massive leap from his usual persona was a great sitcom character. He luckily was supported by good writing and a clever supporting cast, including the much missed James Avery. While it looks a little bit dated now and not all of the jokes will be understood by a modern audience, I think the essence of what made the show work still remains. It's a fish out of water tale really. Also, with only six seasons being made the show got out while it was still largely on top. And not many sitcoms can say that.

Having seen all 148 episodes at least 3-5 times, i can say that the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is my favorite comedy TV show of all time. It is rare to find a TV show that has the perfect blend of comedy, character development, and family values but Bel-Air pulls it off just right. Unlike other TV shows that have two or three seasons that stand out above the rest, Bel-Air is equally fun to watch at season one as it is to watch at season six.I give Bel-Air a 9/10 because it has brought untold amounts of joy and laughs to my life. The only thing that is keeping me from giving Bel-Air a 10/10 SPOILER: is the fact that starting at season four the character Vivian had to be replaced. I did not like the replacement (due to the lack of ability to act) and preferred the previous one.You cannot go wrong with checking out Bel-Air. You will be hooked for years to come.
