qui_j This is very weak in every area. The one standout actress is the lead, Amanda Redman, and Phyllis Logan in the first series, who literally has to carry the series by themselves. The other actors are just like wooden puppets, especially the young Indian male doctor. He needs to go back and finish acting school. There are also ridiculous plots that are built around some medical events that are so far fetched that one wonders if they had a medical adviser on the set at all? This is a series to watch when you have absolutely nothing else in your queue and just want to watch something to pass the time.

Just watched the good doctors cutting off an arm after a building collapse, do we really want to see this rubbish, reminds me of that other hospital series "casualty". Sorry ITV but you have gone and spoilt a really good series.

shivasitaraman It was disappointing though I must say I watched it with an open mind. On the more positive side, I guess one could call it a not very serious drama and watch it in that spirit. What really got to me, as some of the other reviews say, is that that if this was supposed to be Kerala, why not shoot there. Wonderful locations are available along the west coast of India. The Sinhalese speaking actors murdered the Malayalam language! Perhaps it would have been best to call the fictional location what it actually was- SriLanka and not Kerala!

Phil the Fluter Watchable at first but the snide digs at the stereotypical thick, bigoted white British male and all that is British just had to come out eventually.Astounded at Amanda Redman's character perving over a semi-naked and unconscious Indian man. "Ooooh an Adonis!" Can you imagine a white doctor doing the same over a dusky Asian maiden? Nope. Neither can I. Redman then surpassed herself with repeating her assertion that to end a relationship you should "rip the man off like a plaster". Nice.How can this sort of stuff be transmitted? Is this where the un-electable go to carry out their subversive activities unhindered and unquestioned?
