The story is extremely captivating, full of mystery and questions that keep you guessing from the very start. It could have very easily added on a few more episodes but I feel like they cut it a little short. Some of the character's personalities aren't really as fleshed out as they could be, and the humor is a little tacky. I think it could be for anyone who likes cartoons; I've seen other reviews say it's not for little kids but I think it's absolutely fine for little kids, they just might get bored at the slow, mysterious plot. I feel like the mystery, art style and soundtrack fills it with Gravity Falls vibes, and I was constantly intrigued by the character's questions.
Yea just don't watch the ending. I was worried they'd do the thing where they cut it off and leave the answers to your imagination rather than actually reveal anything, but that'd actually be better than what they did instead. Definitely seemed like the kind of show that could easily stretch several seasons but it screwed itself over in the last few minutes.

As an animator I try and watch new shows as they come out, and The Hollow was no different when it showed up on my Netflix feed. As it started, I was cautious. I've seen a lot of puppet animation done poorly or just to save time, but Slap Happy really put their hearts into it, and it shows. The story mixed a lot of themes that I love, and in a way that really mimics what I wish children's programming had more of in general. The story kept me extremely interested, and even the plot points I expected kept me engaged. The sound design was also beautiful, I admire whoever put the time into the music and ambient design on that front. My only issue was the very end, it was just very abrupt and made it feel like the plot and character development was rendered nearly pointless. I still loved the show, and would love for more like it to be made, but I just wish the ending had been crafted with the same care that the rest of the series seemed to be. I still loved it, and it's definitely worth a watch though. If anyone who worked on it is reading this, keep it up!

I don't normally binge anything. This was the glorious exception! I'm seeing a bunch of people docking it a point or two for it's conclusion though. I simply don't think the ending was bad. Thought it was great as a matter of opinion. Regardless, the show is a nail biting dash-fest reminiscent of young adult fiction books like Percy Jackson or Maze Runner. Not a single bad episode and that is praise enough to put it in my top 25.

THis show is more adult that it leads you to believe. It starts off like a supernatural thriller episode that meets Rick and Morty.. And lthough the twist ending was very good..It just didn't quite fit the dark set up. I was expecting something a little more out there. the ending borders on ridiculous actually as although it explains everything it also kind opens up a few plot holes. The powers were not random? No.. They are just severely unbalanced.. How would a game show work when you cannot remember what you are supposed to do. and the final boss...glitches...they have to run from glitches? It could have been a more exciting ending
