sritigers There is no foolish wand waving and silly incantations in this series. The Magicians is not like Harry Potter!!! Its more like Xmen!!!and Naruto, with all that Ninjutsu!! Treat it like Xmen and you wont ruin your childhood memories of Potter world. And you will end up liking it if you just dont make any connection to Harry Potter series.

tygerrslair This show may be about magic but it address everyday life in all its beauty and it's ugliness. It address issues we face today while living in a world where magic exists. The story focuses around 7 magicians and their adventures in a magical college called Brakebills. It is like Harry Potter for adults on crack. It is so emotional and so much fun. The book series by Lev Grossman in which the series is based is a great work for a generation longing for a new group of heroes to grow with since we haven't had anything to embrace since the end of the HP books.I enjoy this show so much and for many reasons. Many of the stories they tell are relevant today. The issues they face though magically challenged or wildly made up are somehow connected to the world we live in right now. If I could rate it higher than a 10, I would!!!

jimmy willson The story could be better but sucks and trends to be repetitive, the actors project an attitude like they are irritated or annoyed and just complain 90% of the time, kind of like high school kids, and all the characters are bisexual alcoholics.
