scarymommie1981 Adaption. I loved it. I think people either didn't watch enough episodes or went in thinking it was going to be an exact replica of the book; similar to how fans reacted to The Dark Tower. I hope Netflix picks up the rest of the show, it has a fan base and can go somewhere. Or will it end up like firefly and ends with a movie ...and look how well that went. A huge fan base and retail ie.$$$$$$$.
fadedskittle This show kept me on edge the entire time. Thought I'd was great overall though and can't wait/hope there is another season after the cliffhanger.
manutebol-30554 I had to bail after 5 episodes. It was hard to like let alone identify with any characters outside Mia and Bryan for me. The old woman made my skin crawl, The Priest who is supposed to represent God is a bumbling idiot and a abuser of women. Eve may be the most unlikable character I've ever seen. The show really couldn't deliver characters you could root for. It's a shame because the Story by Stephen King is so good. Really felt like the teen homosexual sex was gratuitous and probably turned a lot of people off.
Kaptain Bluddflagg Shows like this make me wish that Mystery Science Theater 3000 would do TV shows as well. It's like Manos, but without the charm, and 5 times longer. I kind of wish that there was a second season so that we could find out just what the heck was going on in this show, but at this point it is just morbid curiosity. There are some good performances here, and some decent effects, but they are wasted on a meandering story that can't decide if it wants to be a horror show or a soap opera.I knew I was going to have a real problem with this show as soon as I figured out that the old hippie lady, Nathalie Raven, was to figure prominently in the show. Her character was just so annoyingly smug, and so completely wrong about everything; I cringed every time she opened her mouth and some stereotypical crazy old bat speak would come tumbling out. While her character wasn't the only one I had a problem with, she was far and away the most annoying for me. This show had some potential, but they squandered that pretty badly. It's kind of fun to watch if you're interested in horror so bad that it's good, hence the comparison to Manos. I would recommend watching it while imbibing something to dull the pain of such uninspired crap, or maybe with a group of people who want to bash it with you.
