Synopsis

The Underground was a sketch comedy series produced by and starring Damon Wayans. It aired on Showtime. Wayans describes the show as "In Living Color on steroids." In fact the show features raunchy, sexist, and racist behavior, and as Wayans states in his opening monologue, "We decided to test the limits." The description of the show information is "The future of comedy is here in Damon Wayan's hilarious and uninhibited comedy sketch show where no topic or taboo goes unturned." This mistakenly gives his last name as Wayan, rather than Wayans. Some of the notable continuing sketches and characters in the show are: ⁕Protest Stripper

scottwhite9 I loved the skits (the very few i can find on youtube) otherwise i can't find this show anywhere. It's not even on showtimes list of shows (on its own website). If anyone knows where i can watch the full season, hell...even buy the dvd, let me know. No matter what it's not that awful of a show to completely make disappear and have no association with...which is almost what it seems like showtime has done. Get back at me if you know i can watch full episodes.
yoyomaster-32733 The cast of this piece did exactly what should have been done which was have fun on the set. It was not to much of a format to follow which made it crisp. I like the skits that was used also. Now there could've been more improvising in some of the approaches in certain pieces. Over all it was still funny just in certain skits it seemed as if they were forcing what should have been natural.Overall it's refreshingly funny. If you enjoy laughing I'd recommend this as a for sure pick.It kinda reminded me of Dave Chappelle's approach with his show minus the educating ethnicities of stereotypical views.I would watch this over & over again. So definitely get it a peek you won't be disappointed.
tanishia-allen Well I actually like this show. I found it to be very funny and Damon Wayans is too funny. His son is pretty good too. The show covers all boundaries and I've never seen a show as raunchy as this. I'm assuming they cancelled the show cause I don't' see any new season or new episodes but watching the repeats is enjoyful for me.Overall I'm a big fan of the Wayans family and I too was disappointed with Wife and Kids was cancelled as this how really does reflect what goes on in the black community. But Underground although will never be as good as in living color brings back those old memories and I like it. I wish there were more different skits but overall at least 90% of the skits are funny to me.
Unideeluv Okay there are certain sketches I think are funny like the gangster loving old woman, the balls jeans, vagina monologues, taxi cab conversation, and the airport search sketch. But some of them just aren't funny.. like the Jesse Owens, psycho white chick w/ black guy tied up, and the professor slap the s*^t out of you sketches. sometimes you catch the actors laughing at their own jokes and not being able to ad lib which i think can really make the scene funny. I think the worse sketch is definitely the Jackie Chan Chris tucker skit. so corny and could've be really funny. Maybe Damon needs to ask a few family members to give their input and help with the writing aspect of the show.
