Cold417 I was a bit late getting into the Discovery series Storm Chasers, so there wasn't much of a gap left when I saw that they were producing Tornado Chasers. I've survived two tornadoes personally (last one was a nightmare) and love weather related shows that show people that haven't experienced this weather phenomenon what it's like at ground zero. You'll be entertained and educated by this series. Truly a world-class production...and I only hope that season 3 is as good as season 2. Reed is always entertaining and energetic and makes you feel like you're in the hot seat with their team. I also really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes and slow chase day footage that gives you insight into what it really takes to be a chaser and to bring this type of content to the masses. +1 for a series that does not pander to the docu-drama BS that network executives think the public wants.
theMike-D Season 01 was a success for which I believe it was designed: provide an accurate portrayal of a storm chaser's existence in the field. Though bogged down occasionally with inner-team drama, Season 1 served its purpose and there are fantastic moments of capturing weather at its most violent while nabbing genuinely humanistic bits which worked well overall. With crowd source funding at the ready, a few key personnel adjustments and lessons learned from S01, I feel Season 02 accurately reflected the realities of not only a storm chaser's "life in the field" but also of the 2013 Tornado season itself: A little slow to begin, a flash of excitement, an inevitable crescendo of frenzied activities only to end with the cold reality of how dangerous this endeavor can be and, in the end, how the storm chasing landscape was forever altered. From a content perspective, TC S02 brought a more polished look through sensible editing and a solid music score, backed by an aggressive mission of documenting up-close tornado encounters wherever the opportunity arises. Great visualizations of extreme weather is where S02 wins BIG. As a viewer, you are literally riding in the cockpit with the TVN crew and tornado intercept vehicles for a "real-time" view into the storm chasing universe. I found the overall production effort to be surprisingly…Human. One feels the emotional highs of a tornado pursuit, the lows of plans gone awry, sadness through loss of life and property. The content is raw, delivery well executed. The personalities work; the drama is minimal and even classic over-the-top moments with Timmer can be forgiven as it's clearly a matter of passion for all involved. Another exciting aspect was TVN showcasing coordination efforts with Oklahoma City's Channel 4 and the Weather Channel. This is a tremendous value-add and one unique to the Tornado Chaser world as a whole. If you are a seasoned chaser, casual observer or have interest in weather whatsoever, these Episodes are a must-see. Much like the enterprise of storm chasing itself, TVN will cause you to laugh, jump in surprise, and scratch your head in disbelief - all the while, bringing deep emotional connections when one realizes: It's not just about the chase but also understanding the plight individuals and communities face in the wake of severe weather. In the end, you can feel the emotion TVN poured into this effort. They raise the bar by presenting glorious extreme weather content while gripping tightly to the humanistic connections of those both within and outside the world of Tornado Chasers.
king-996-367949 It's rather sad that Reed had to use his Facebook account to gain (beg) for positive solicited reviews. Like so many of his projects, it's all fluff and slick marketing directed to a poor public mass that does not know any better. This is why there are a host of 10 point reviews all from a few days -- all grouped together. What? No 9's or 8's? Come on!So I have to say anyone who believes this will also believe his other silly projects. The show is, as a few honest reviewers have noted, the same old "Storm Chasers." Reed could do some wonderful things if he would stop chasing and devote his life to true science. He is a brilliant individual, that you can see, but the storm chasing story is like beating a dead horse.AK
juliejoe88882002 I know I wrote a review, but it's not on here, so I shall write another one because, Reed Timmer, you are worth my time to write this. You educated me more with your series then anyone else on t.v. did. I appreciate the fact that you let us all be part of the experiment of the show you put together and I, for one, would not hesitate to donate again to another season. I would love to see you continue this work and provide us the knowledge that we learn by watching you and reading your work. Please continue doing the series - I'll contribute again, because it's worth every penny that you need to make the show. You have millions of fans and keep the Dominator driving and don't stop filming nor posting updates on everything and anything weather wise, Dominator wise, and personal wise. We love you Reed - keep DOMINATING woot.
