The Couchpotatoes
After a good first season, that looked promising to me, I continued watching four seasons of this show, but now I will just give it up. It's going nowhere and downhill is the only direction it's taken. The strange relationship between Chris Geere and Aya Cash was interesting to watch, sometimes a bit funny but not hilarious like some people say. The story went downhill since Aya Cash played the depressed character. But that's not the only reason I stopped watching this. The main reason is the very unlikable characters played by Desmin Borges and Kether Donohue. The first one has the same very irritating nasal voice as Ross from Friends, add on that that he's not funny at all and you get quickly irritated. The most irritating character is played by Kether Donohue. I don't think you could make her any dumber than she is. Cringing to watch. The only really funny character is played by Todd Robert Anderson, unfortunately he's not one of the major characters and so you don't get to see him alot. Season five will be without me watching it. There are much better comedies to watch at this moment.

This is a sitcom-drama series set in Los Angeles. It's about a writer (Jimmy) and a publicist (Gretchen) who become sex buddies soon after they meet at a wedding. Later on during the first season, they make a transition to a being a couple. None of the characters are likable. Most of the attempts at humour don't work. The two main characters are too miserable, selfish and uncaring for the show to be fun - or for us to care about them. It's not romantic, because they don't have chemistry as a couple. They're unsuited to each other, so we can't believe in their relationship.

If you ere getting tired of the ,,everything is so happy and everybody is in love" romantic comedies and want some real-life on TV, then this is for you.Well written characters who have the right place in the story, situations where you wanna cry and laugh at the same time and two people in the leading roles, who don't want love or a relationship, but after a time they figure it out, that they care about each other more than about themselves. I'm finished with the two seasons and I really enjoyed watching their journey. I also really liked how they pictured Gretchens depression. This is the real deal. You can't fix it overnight or ,,snap out of it". I hope there will be a third season. Television needed a romcom like this.

I really enjoyed this show last season. I hate this new story line with Gretchen's depression. I used to love her character! She was so funny, and so blunt. This whole depression thing is killing her character. I know depression is real, and is terrible for the person and their family and friends, but that belongs in a drama, not a comedy. I hope they bring back the old Gretchen. Her spunk was one of the things that made the show so funny. I miss the hysterical banter between Gretchen and Jimmy. Now she is almost a non- character. Bring back the crazy, awful Gretchen! Her bizarre, completely wrong behavior is essential to maintain the hilarity.
