And Ⅰ like a song "Maria" which is used in this movie, Ⅰ want to you to hear this song you must be liked it
kmast88 The first part of the movie was cute and funny and had a good message about inner beauty. I have no idea what the writer was trying to accomplish at the end though. During the last 30 minutes of the movie, the actors stopped acting, faced the camera and started naming the writers, directors, and producers. From then on, it was nothing but dialog from earlier in the movie repeated verbatim. The dialog was well-written and made sense the first time, but was completely irrelevant and without context the second time. The acting got worse too, as the actors were obviously struggling to deal with odd turn the script had taken. This movie had so much potential and could have been great if they hadn't fizzled the ending. If it weren't for the last 30 minutes I would have given it a 9.
robby_pomee_93 The heavy humor and heartbreak begins with the 'obese' and 'disgustingly ugly' Han-na Kang. A phone sex worker and the real voice behind the new beautiful pop star, Ammy. After Ammy releases 'her' new album, Han-na's heart owner, the producer, throws a party in honor of success. But this celebration turns into a career-wrecking nightmare, as Ammy insults Hanna in front of everyone including the producer. With this, Han-na decides to secretly quit and attempt suicide, but is fortunately interrupted by her surgeon client. With this, Han-na decides to use her client to receive total-body plastic surgery and disappears for one year. There were a few different themes showing throughout, which made the viewers think a lot after the film ended. The film had an amazing cast, which suited their roles perfectly, especially Ah-Jung Kim, the actor of Han-na's new look. 200 Pounds Beauty surely stood out from other Korean romantic comedies by winning Grand Bell awards for Best Actress, (Ah-Jung Kim) and Best Cinematography. The unpredictable atmosphere suited the film, as there were many sudden actions and comments, vital for fully understanding the ending scene. The plot flowed smoothly from point to point. The film was amusing throughout, from the funny beginning, to the unbearably sad ending. This film is happily sitting in my top 10 pocket of best movies. With perfect harmony between plot, character and atmosphere, I enjoyed watching this film and there are no faults I can find to give. Yong-Hwa Kim, the genius director must be proud to construct the 200 Pounds Beauty.
le_renard I will admit that I have not seen many Korean romantic comedies, so I can't say definitively how it compares to others. But I have definitely seen my fair share of U.S. romantic comedies. Frankly, the genre has become so clichéd, it's nearly impossible to find any decent new romantic comedies. When I chose to watch "200 Pounds Beauty," I expected more of the same formulaic plot twists, etc. Yet I was pleasantly surprised at how beautifully produced this movie was. The actors did a superb job. My only contention is that there were several unexplained plot contents. I won't spoil it for any potential viewers, so I'll leave you to figure those out for yourselves.Bottom line: if you want to watch a cute, funny and well done romantic comedy, then this is your movie. But make sure you have some Kleenex on hand! There are a few tugging-at-the-heart strings scenes.
