jtindahouse 'All Hallows' Eve' has been on my watchlist for a few years now, but it wasn't until seeing 'Terrifier' recently that I knew I had to go back and watch it. It was pretty apparent that the character of 'Art the Clown' is something very special and I will lap up every bit of him that I can find. I would call 'All Hallows' Eve' a bit of an appetiser for the main event that was still to come. The film is broken up into three segments, with a central segment tying them all together. I didn't realise until after seeing the film that the segments were actually the short films writer/director Damien Leone had made a few years prior. The first segment is okay without being anything really special. 'Art the Clown' isn't really a huge feature in this one and while some of the other characters were certainly well designed, they definitely didn't pull off the same level of malice. The second segment is easily the weakest element to the film. It really drags everything down for a good half an hour there and was quite disappointing. 'Art the Clown' makes an appearance of sorts in this segment but it's hardly worth mentioning. The third segment though is where the film truly comes into its own. This was the original 'Terrifier' short film from 2011 and it is nothing short of brilliant. Genuine horror is so hard to find these days but this is certainly it.The segment that ties everything together is mildly well done. It serves its purpose and provides a way for the film to go out on a high. As I said though things weren't quite polished yet. There's some pretty terrible acting at times (especially the phone calls) and the second segment really drags it down. If the film doesn't sound like you, but you'd like to see the third segment I spoke of you could simply try and track down the short film 'Terrifier' from 2011. And if you haven't already please see the 2017 feature length version of 'Terrifier'. It truly is a horror masterpiece. I give 'All Hallows' Eve' a 6/10.
jacobjohntaylor1 This a really scary movie. It has great story lines. It also has great acting. It also has great special effects. This is scarier then The silences of the lambs could ever be. This is scarier then Halloween resurrection could ever be. This is scarier then the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on elm street could ever be. This is scarier then the 2009 reboot of Friday the 13th could ever be. This is a very scary movie. I give it 5 out of 10. You like horrors stories then you will like this movie. It is a very scary movie. See it.
MattyGibbs This low budget shocker starts off poorly but improves as the film goes on. Two kids and a babysitter put on an old VHS tape they find but things aren't quite as they seem. There are 3 stories interwoven ( four if you include the babysitter and the kids). The first segment is pretty disappointing but they improve as the film goes on although they do get slightly confusing at times. Not many people like clowns these days and with creations like Art the clown it's easy to see why. A truly disturbing character. I can't say I really enjoyed this film but it does it's job as it is very creepy and for a horror film the ending is actually quite good. If you're looking for a scary film to watch this is worth a look.
a_baron This is an original twist on the "Halloween" theme although no one could accuse the film makers of trespassing on the franchise. A babysitter is left to mind a feisty brother and sister. While out trick or treating, someone has slipped a video into the boy's bag; this turns out to be a rather unusual video nasty. Naturally the two are intent on playing it, but the babysitter has other ideas although she does let them watch part of it before deciding it it unsuitable and packing them off to bed. Just as naturally she decides to watch the rest of the film, the villain of which is a killer clown who just might be more frightening than John Gacy. On screen the clown is wreaking havoc on the usual damsels and any man who gets in his way. He appears too to have supernatural powers as one of his targets manages to kill him, but he bounces right back following her in a car.The babysitter is more than a little unnerved, especially as towards the end the clown emerges from the TV set with bad intentions. The obvious question is how much of this is in her head? Thankfully this film is rather on the short side, but don't watch it if you are of a sensitive disposition.
